When this curious baby elephant encounters a tour group near Kruger National Park in South Africa, it doesn’t just move closer, it raises the two-steps-forward-one-step-back approach into a dance form, particularly when set to the most perfect musical backdrop imaginable. (via Murray C.)

LOVE the music with this! I read somewhere that elephants’ brains respond to humans like ours to dogs—they think we’re cute!
Can’t watch (at least not with sound) until I get home! GAA! Torture!
It’s “Baby Elephant Walk” by Henry Mancini. And yes, it’s perfect!
Hehe, I guessed it might be.
I’ve taken to adding the youtube videos to my “Watch Later” list so they come up whenever I get to them (since that’s how I also watch the late night shows (Colbert, Daily Show, Seth Meyers) and some other channels I watch; I add all the new videos to Watch Later and then just let them play through. Cute animals are a nice break from all the political comedy/commentary.
Fantastic! Wish I could see a bebeh trunkster in the wild, dancing or scooting or just hanging out.
Oh my goodness, I’m ded from the cuteness! Such a sweet bebeh and the song made me smile, so appropriate for this video. I love how this lil heffalump has his trunk straight out in front of him to try and figure out all the new smells coming off the humans.
Am I the only one that remembers this song is from the John Wayne movie Hatari? Perfect choice for this clip!
I’m impressed by the stone-handling skills. Give him a football and he’ll be playing for South Africa in a few years!
