It Came From… the Swamp!

One misty morning, deep in the Louisiana bayous, Phil, a happy-go-lucky labradoodle, chased a stick into the murky water and was never seen again. As he became one with the plant life, he was transformed into the monster known only as… Swamp Thing!

    It’s not easy being green.

That storyline reminds me of “The Lonesome Death of Jordy Verill.” Now who’s your inspiration, NTMTOM? Stephen King or H.P. Lovecraft?

Take me home with you. I don’t need feeding- I photosynthesize.

Whatever the dog got into I hope it was fun. 😁

    Fantastic scrolldown, as always.

Really needed the belly laugh this morning! Someone at work may have tested positive for COVID, so I’ll be getting a test and working from home until my results come back. I have been supremely lucky throughout this pandemic and anticipate getting a clean bill of health. This is a very minor inconvenience. But it’s still a little scary.

      I have my fingers crossed

    • Ricky & Bibi's Mom November 10, 2020 / 12:52 pm

Fingers, toes, and paws all crossed for you, DebG! And for everyone at your place of work, too.

      • Debg November 10, 2020 / 2:02 pm

Thanks, everybody. And I misspoke–someone has definitely come down with it. Cases in CO are on the rise.

        • Kar November 10, 2020 / 2:31 pm

I was hoping that you meant Cases in Cute Obviously, but I’m guessing not.

Stay home and stay safe if you can!

        • Dulcie November 10, 2020 / 2:52 pm

          Oh DebG please take care!

Oh dear, I hope you stay healthy and have managed to avoid it!

        • AJ November 10, 2020 / 5:21 pm

hoping your test comes back negative.

          • Debg November 10, 2020 / 5:51 pm

Thanks again, everybody. Can you direct positive thoughts to my best work friend, who has been terrified of catching COVID and must now be nearly catatonic? I’ve been so worried about her fear even before this.

            • Murray C. November 10, 2020 / 6:00 pm

Will do and to you, too – that’s frightening.

    • Tara November 10, 2020 / 6:32 pm

DebG – be well! Sending lots of healthy vibes your way.

Oof. How do you clean all of that off? Just a regular bath or some kind of industrial-strength stuff that won’t hurt the doggo? Or is a major haircut in this guy’s future??

    • Kar November 10, 2020 / 2:32 pm

I”m guessing a bottle and a half of Dawn.

      • Ricky & Bibi's Mom November 10, 2020 / 4:45 pm

Ya know, if it were me, it would be one bath and then let it grow out. πŸ™‚

        • Debg November 10, 2020 / 5:50 pm

I’d go with the buzz cut, but I’m not used to washing dogs.

  8. AJ November 10, 2020 / 5:23 pm

Wow, just wow. I’m glad I’m not the one giving Mr. Green a bath. It might be just easier to hose him off outside.

    • ^oo^ November 11, 2020 / 11:40 am

Or- the long wait for St. Patrick’s Day. Schedule a bath for the next day.

    COVID-free feathered hugs to everyone.
