Maru insists on keeping on top running form, in the event he might want to try running. To keep his paw pads in road-hugging shape, his floof must be trimmed.
After the trim, Maru’s paw pads are lovingly coated with honey cream, which keeps them supple and attractive to bees. Which would definitely give you something to run from.
He’s so pampered, Andrew Y.
It’s no secret that he’s pawsitively my favorite! >:3
Organic honey cream – keeps toe beans supple and prevents blinking!
Watching him get groomed is so relaxing…the water sound in the background is nice, too.
I had the same reaction. It might rain here today–too bad I don’t have a kitty hammock to watch the babies relax.
It rained here the last couple days but it’s sunny now.
Maru: relaxed or stoic? Yes. Though during the honey creme process, he seemed to be downloading transmissions from the mothership.
Really want to come back as one of mugumogu’s cats next time around.
It’s astonishing to me that Maru would lie perfectly still and contented while Mugumogu used a buzzing object to shave the fur from his paw pads. Any cat I’ve ever known would have instantly flown onto my face and attached itself with the claws of all four paws. Then his calm while having his paw pads creamed had even Mugumogu asking if he was OK.
Hana is a normal cat – putting stuff on my paws pads? Must be licked off immediately.
It’s a good thing Stars doesn’t have long hair; she’d never tolerate such a noise.
Clearly the most spoiled (and calm) cat in the world. 😻
The honey cream turned out to be not such a good idea for poor Maru. He suffered through interdigital inflammation and needed an emergency footbath and extra pad pampering!
Maru’s trust in Mugumogu is apparently absolute.
