Maru Meets Meat Buns

How many times has this happened to you? You’re in a fancy Japanese restaurant, about to enjoy a delicious doughy pastry filled with your favorite savory ingredients, when you suddenly realize you’ve accidentally been served the front feet of celebrity cat Maru! Make sure you know the difference with this handy video guide.

A public service from Andrew Y.

Little kitten Miri loves to drink from the sink, but it doesn’t always agree with her. And thanks to the miracle of Histor-O-Vision, we can see that Maru once had a drinking problem too.

Mine too! I was worried about ordering meat buns because I’m a vegetarian. Worried no more!

So what I’ve learned is…if you get meat buns that have fur, don’t eat them.

Miri reminds me of Stripes in the bathtub. He didn’t drink it but he would try to catch the water before it went down the drain. (But if you closed the drain…he didn’t like it when the water started to collect around his feet.)

I always thought Maru’s paws looked like fluffy marshmallows. 😻

I’m just getting to the Miri clip. Miri is REALLY cute – even for a kitten! I love the way everything is news to her – but she is game!

Mmm! Meat buns! Those look like Chinese pork bao, one of my favorite treats. Apparently they’re popular in Japan, where they are called Nikuman or Butaman (depending on region).

I prefer mine without cat fur; that is, if I’m going to be eating them.

    Miri is a trip.
