(Hmm, what am I in the mood for? I don’t think I can digest an entire book right now. I just want something I can casually leaf through. Ah, this looks good… *munch, munch*)

Aww, cute hungry bunny, wanting to know more about horses. I had to smile at this because one of my bunny’s fencing ended just before our bookcase. So when feeling mischievous, Leo would chew on the Food magazines, that were stacked on the bottom shelf. I had to put cardboard in front of them to stop it. I just recently threw them away but was teary as I saw where Leo’s toofie marks were.
Aww, toofie marks. Mookie used to “punctuate” the covers of my paperbacks. It must have provided a very satisfactory feeling to him, like popping bubble-wrap does to many people. I’m with your late Leo and this pretty bunny; I, too, enjoy devouring literature.
Clive, the first kitty I cared for who wasn’t a family pet, marked all of my Dorothy L. Sayers paperbacks when he was teething. I’ll never be able to give away those books–the teefmarks are too precious.
We never stop loving our babies.
So true Deb. I haven’t had a kitty in the house for a couple of years now. I can still hear their “voices” and see the expressions of each individual fur baby.
And just the other day I found a single whisker and knew exactly who it belonged to – it was actually painful. 😥
Oh man. That gets me right in the heart.
Luv Bunny, you know we’re right there with you, missing Leo even if we never met him.
Aw, such a hungry ball of fuzz! Took me a second to comprehend the configuration of the bun as I scrolled down.
Meant to share this yesterday but I was all out of sorts. I guess it’s more appropriate for Bunday, anyway.
It is a good thing these are candy! I was getting pre-upset until she opened the box. Pretty good April Fool’s!
It’s a great prank!
Lionhead up above is so pretty! I forgot to mention the cuteness–silly me!
Bunny obviously has good taste. Looks so soft too, just want to pet those fuzzy wuzy ears. Happy to be amongst other avid readers. Since most libraries have been closed to visitors I’ve been buying my books at the thrift stores, it’s amazing how many books you can get for about $20-25. Then once I’m done, I donate them back so someone else can enjoy them and the thrift organization makes some money off them again. Win-win-win for everyone. I know you can place an order for books and pick up at the library branch but half the time I don’t know what book I want until I’m browsing. True story, when I was a kid, I’d get in trouble for reading so much I was neglecting my homework so library privileges were revoked temporarily. I guess I was bored and desperate, my mom found me in the pantry reading the can labels, lol.
Thanks Allein for sharing the video on found “bunnies”. The way they were so gingerly opening the box had me half expecting them to be like jacks in the box, exploding out. Those are the types of bun buns I would gladly adopt.
You are obviously my soul mate!😍 This is
Egg-ZACT-ly how I feel about books! However, I went to reading on-line during this pandemic. I miss holding an actual book 😞 but my library is well-stocked virtually. It has allowed me to read as avidly as normal and keep as isolated as possible!
I have found that reading on a tablet leaves one hand free for petting kitties. (Plus I can enlarge the text.) A recent physical book has taken me forever to read, even though it’s wonderful, just because I can’t see it or pet the cats.
Good point! My bun does jump up for pets on his stool next to my chair when I read.😊
You can see little bun has already munched down the side of that mag! This is why I had to move all my books up a shelf and then had to put fence around them! Theo is very determined with anything paper-ish. I have many books with partially chewed spines.😒 Books and Bunnies do not go together!😢
I’m mystified. Why do bunnies like to eat paper?
I don’t really know! But ALL my rabbits have liked chewing on cardboard the most. (And all but 1 bunny–my avatar, Oscar–have also EATEN the cardboard/paper!) I save the boxes things are shipped in and the bunnies go to town! But Theo will also grab any piece of paper that has fallen and rip it to shreds. Maybe becos their teeth grow and this helps to keep them short? I know that’s why my gerbils chewed up so much cardboard!
Gerbils and bunnies are nature’s paper shredders. When we had gerbils, I’d throw in the empty cardboard toilet paper rolls, pieces of newspaper and some junk mail. They’d chew it up and make a pile for their bedding, then bury themselves. The bunnies however, wanted to eat the paper. They’d usually just tear up cardboard and all their willow baskets and sticks.
I guess paper is made from trees, which are plants, which they eat. The tree/plants are processed, so maybe paper is like processed food or junk food?
I guess all animals have some sort of need to chew. Duckie has a toy made up of cardboard circles on a string, and she routinely shreds it.
I may have told this story before, but I still find it hysterical. When I was working in the mall pet store, the boss got a box of bunnies in one night after we had gone home. So he put the large box of bunnies in the back room and left a note for us to set them up in the morning. Frankly, it would have taken less time to put them in a cage with litter, food and water than it did to write the note, but that was my boss. So we came in next day, found the note, and discovered a cardboard box with food, water, and a hole in the side. We checked the store and found nary a bunny. So we called security, told them the situation and handed out nets all around. It only took half an hour to find all six bunnies, and security said it was the best time they’d had at work ever.
That is hysterical! And adorable.
Hopefully this all happened before the mall opened, can imagine the look on people’s faces if bunnies were hopping thru the mall. And I have visions of a Keystone caper trying to capture them. Gee which way did he go George???
WONDERFUL story!
THAT is hysterical!😂 And just so…BUNNY!
As an aside, Duckie got new toys yesterday. Two five foot bendy ropes. I have them hung outside her cage for her to use as a jungle gym, and can reconfigure them any way I like.
Pictures of Duckie playing with them!
Oooh, yes, please!
Pictures as soon as she stops thinking they’re an evil plot out to get her. Whoever said budgies are curious must have had an unique one, because all five of the ones I deal with daily in my building are convinced that something new means we’re trying to kill them.
Loved the scattered bunny story!
And watch out for little Duckie on the jungle gym…these things can lead to steroid use. You don’t want to have boid rage to deal with. 🤣
