Nugget the big fat chicken makes me so very happy. Have to save everything else for later, but I’m glad I took the time for Nugget.

My mom sent me a message last night:
Stars is sick. She isn’t eating anything and isn’t walking without stopping to sit or lay down.
Then this a little while ago:
Taking Stars to vet for 11:15 appointment. We won’t be able to go in to the office and if she needs to be put down, we may not be allowed to be with her.

My parents just got home:
“Doctor said Stars had a lot of belly fluid and probably had a tumor and was losing weight. She was put to sleep. We were with her and now she is with her brother.”
So sorry for your and their loss. It’s good at least that your parents could spend a final moment with her.
Thank you. Glad I went to give her some scritches when I was there last weekend. She seemed her normal self, then (but then her normal self is sleeping on the bed or hiding in the corner, so I guess that doesn’t imply much.)
Glad everyone got to be with Stars until the end. Hard as it is, it is comforting to be there with our beloved pet. Sending comfort as best I can.

Allein, please don’t think that way. You went to see her last weekend, and gave her love. Your last time with her was love. She was on your mind and in your heart when she went. She knew she was loved. And she is waiting for you at the Rainbow Bridge, where i’m Sure she will tell you that.

I agree with Duckie. She knew you loved her and that’s all that matters. I once had to say goodbye to one of my cats via telephone. Visiting my parents in NJ when kitty in FL took a turn for the worse and the vet couldn’t promise he would last til I got home in 2 days. It helped make a hard situation easier knowing that at least hubby was with him and he knew that I was thinking about him..
I’m so sorry Allein. I’m glad to hear your parents were able to be with her, the pandemic really complicated this procedure for many aniparents.

My brain has a hard time accepting that Nugget is the one actually doing the talking, reminds me of videos where someone adds in a voice track that matches the way the bird’s mouth is moving. But if it’s real, wow, that’s an amazing bird. Love little Rexie Roo and so happy he found his forever home. Scary pets, some are perfect photo timing, others are like time to call the priest for an exorcism.
