It’s Friday the thirteenth, so this is a good moment to remind everyone that black cats aren’t evil or scary, they’re as sweet and cuddly as any other type of cat. They want what any cat wants: belly rubs and chin scritchies, curling up for naps, chasing string or a squeaky mouse, and enjoying delicious food so they can grow big and strong and tear you to ribbons because what you have there, sport, is a black panther cub.

Not-a-house panther.
Scorpius now allows me to pet him, and even rub his tumtum, even when he’s not in his cave. Sometimes. I think he misses me working in his basement.
What a beauty!
Can’t help but wonder what that fur feels like. I have a black house panther with fur like a black velvet elvis, but better.
I’ve gotten to pet a baby black panther before. Just like black velvet elvis. But with pounciness.
If anyone needs me I’ll be pondering the difference between elvis velvet and the regular kind.
Same as the difference between blue suede shoes and the regular kind. Don’t step on them…
“Do anything that you want to do
But uh-uh baby, lay off of my shoes
Don’t you step on my blue suede shoes
You can do anything but lay off of my blue suede shoes
Rock it
Well, it’s one for the money, two for the show
Three to get ready now go, cat, go!”
I’d still scritch him.
While he’s little, at least.
I would love to cuddle him, he looks so soft.
That not-a-house-panther (thanks, DebG!) looks absolutely beautiful and fabulously cared for. I love regular house panthers, too, though — I’ve had Siamese and torties, but never a house panther, but I would dearly love one. They are so beautiful, just like this baby kitten who’s bigger than two house panthers put together!
Wow, that is a beautiful black panther cub. How could such an innocent looking face threaten to rip me to ribbons? I know it could as it became older but just from that pic, it looks so cuddly.
Anyone else get an email notification for a post entitled Puppy Friday? I got it shortly before I left work but there was no comment box, so I just went back to it after I got home and realized it’s dated May 24, 2016…
(Not that I’m complaining, mind you.)
Yes, I got it, too. And, like you, greatly enjoyed it, but also couldn’t comment, and noticed that it was an old post. An excellent old post, of course! Maybe it’s that black panther kitten that caused a short time inversion and returned the old Friday post to our inboxes?
A magic panther?!?!
Well, it’s Friday the 13th and a black panther is more likely to be magic than a sweet golden puppy, right?
Good point…
Sorry, that was my error. The post was never published, but had that date stuck to it, and I didn’t change it before I published.
You should apologize for posting cute sleepy puppies! How could you?!
Aw thanks for the worthy PSA. I have two house panthers. Love them so very much. In some future world where I am flush with cash, I will actively search out and adopt the unwanted house panthers at shelters. Hard to believe they are the most difficult to get adopted. They can all come to live with me. 😁
One more black cat:
Wait’ll I get my mitts on you!
Oh no! Playing with its hind paws. Talk about murder mittens!
What incredible toebeans! I suspect, however, that their adorableness is nature’s camouflage for the secrets hidden between those large and perfectly oval toebeans…and, of course, their size is a strong warning of the kitten’s future size!
