Dog crashes forecast, comedy wildlife photos, groundhog and son, hyena man, and more.

And finally: Very Cheeky, Fiona!

We need more pets to crash weather reports. It would make them easier to watch.

Hope all the East coast people are dry after last night’s storm. I missed most of $100,000 Pyramid because they kept breaking in with weather reports – tornado warnings in Manhattan?! My parents got a little water in the basement but not too bad. The town I work in had major flooding after Henri last week; I can’t find anything about flooding from last night but there is still a flood warning in effect (there is a park with a small lake so if it overflows it goes right down the main street in town. Unlikely to affect my actual workplace but there was flooding after Henri in another area as well, which I have to drive past on my alternate route. I was supposed to go into the office and work from home tomorrow but I asked my boss if I could switch because I just don’t know what to expect on my drive to work. Saw pictures of flooded areas further north and heard about water in the subways again. Also one of the terminals at Newark airport has water up to the first or second step on the escalator, looked like.

Good to hear you’re alright. I saw the news reports and came here to ask how you were managing. I used to live in Union County when I was a kid and can remember some really bad flooding. The one piece of info that amazed me was the 3 inches per hour dumped in Newark and Central Park. That’s a lot of water! Hope anyone else in the Northeast is doing ok.

It’s crazy. We got a few periods of heavy downpours, and a little thunder and lightning later in the evening. Where I live doesn’t have any big waterways close enough to cause major flooding, so I’m not too concerned about that at my house, at least (plus I live on the second floor). When it rains hard enough my parents do get some water in the back part of the basement just because it can’t drain away fast enough.

I saw the tornado warning for New York on the news here and I couldn’t believe it, sounded just like one of those cheesy disaster movies! Glad your parent’s house didn’t suffer too much flooding and that everyone is OK.

The comedy wildlife photos are awesome!

Baby otter looks like he knows he’s in trouble. I wonder what he did.

Wildlife photos are full of wild life.

      Nobody:
      Absolutely nobody:

Baby otter’s mom: wake up, wake up, let’s go spend all day at the kelp forest. What’s that, why yes, it is the one in the cold, wet, dark waters. You’ll be fine, you’ll love it once you get there 🙂 Here let me help you, in you go…

Otter swimming lessons look suspiciously like attempted drowning. You feel bad for em, but otters gotta ott.

Hope everybody experiencing extreme weather stays safe!

And I agree with Allein–more dogs on weather channels!

Fiona is still a star after all this time. Such a sassy cutie.
