Who could resist having a playmate with a pair of built-in floppy cat toys on its head? Certainly not this playful kitten who can’t get enough of its rabbit friend. (via Murray C.)

Such cutie pies! That is one patient and mellow bun bun dealing with kitty playing with its ears. I also call matchingkins, with both wearing grey and white.
Thanks everyone for the good wishes on the house. After almost a year of off and on looking and being out bid on several houses, we were surprised that this one actually came through. As most people know, the SoCal housing market (like many others) is superhot and I refused to get into bidding wars. So many sellers weren’t satisfied with us offering $25, $30, and even $50,000 over list price, especially when I couldn’t see the value in the property. This one was us being in the right place at the right time. We were the first people to see the house once it was listed, and they liked our offer. I also think they didn’t want to deal with a long selling process. It also has a huge yard (and a pool!) so if we ever decide to do a Cutetropolis gathering, we can all come to my house!
My cousin is selling her dad’s house (here in NJ) and they had 15 offers within a few days of it going on the market. One person even said if there was anything they didn’t want they could just leave it in the house and they’d take care of it.
I’m glad you held out for the right place–paying too much would have been a bad idea. Colorado’s housing market is similar, because there’s so little inventory right now. It’s why I’m holding out for a new build: no bidding wars!
Looking forward to visiting you, hee hee!
I want that bun. She, I presume by the large dewlap is patient with the kitty, to a point. I think she was tiring of the playful kitty. Kitty, with the help of the hoomin, should learn that buns don’t play the same as cats and dogs. The little murder claws and razor teeth could hurt the bun’s ears. I hope the kitty is well supervised around this sweet bun bun.
And AJ, happy for you with getting your new home. I’m sure you’ll enjoy fixing it to your taste.
It did look like that lovely big bun was getting a bit fed up after a while. Kittens in energetic mode can be a lot to handle. Let’s hope bunny got some breaks during the filming.
Yeah, I was getting nervous for bunbun after a bit. S/he was very patient at first, resigned to the fate of ears as cat toys, but seemed to get upset by the end.
I had a feeling that bunny was really hoping the kitten would get tired and be a nice warm snuggle kitten again. It is, after all, one of the best features of kittens–sleeping a lot, on laps, pups, buns, anywhere.
Congrats on your new house AJ. Looking forward to a Cutetropolis pool party.
Dad got Covid test results back. Negative. He’s disappointed. He was looking forward to two weeks off. We told him to take them anyway (he’s retired), but he said he didn’t feel right doing so. 🙄
Soft bunny and stripey kitten. Definitely weekend stuff.
What do you take weeks off from when you’re retired?
I’m sorry your father is against vaccination, especially as you have more than enough on your plate without that. But I’m glad he doesn’t have Covid.
Same here. This is good news.
Oh your Dad is too funny!
But on the serious side…good thing he’s neg!!
Bunny and kitty are so cute, and I also call matchingkins!
I feel like myself today, thank goodness, and actually woke up with lots of energy (I suppose since I saved it all up from laying down all day yesterday). I heard that some people felt sick for 2 days or longer after the booster so I was prepared to lose the weekend, but am so happy that didn’t happen.
Happy Sunday everyone!
Glad you’re feeling better!
Good to hear you’re doing better. I guess a day or two with some mild side effects from a vaccine is preferable to the alternative. I need to go find both a booster and my flu shot, do not want to get sick this winter.
Kitten is over the top in every way–fuzziness, cuteness, and playfulness. Beautiful bun was very patient. I hope they become besties.
Gorgeous bun, and patient enough with kitten.
