I can’t look at most of the links until later, but I think we saw this vet before? If not the same, it was one with similar tricks. Hoping to get my booster on Wednesday; I don’t need a treat (not getting covid is enough of a treat) but I wouldn’t turn down a spoonful of chocolate or something…..
I didn’t get cuddles with my booster, but I did treat myself to chocolate and a very yummy marionberry hard cider that night. 😀
There’s a Starbucks near the hospital; might order a hot chocolate (probably with caramel) when I’m leaving so I can run in and grab it on my way home.

Apparently it’s a cross-breed of two types of blackberry.

Yep, and they’re delicious (and usually huge). This was 2 Towns Cider- based out of Oregon and I’m not sure if they’re available everywhere (I’m in Washington).

Yes, but I think the cultivated ones are probably better. The wild ones near the mountains are usually pretty good, but when you get them from other areas (like, for example, the vacant property next to us, haha!) they can be kind of seed-y.
That’s my problem with blackberries. I love raspberries but blackberry seeds are too big.
I’d get a shot from that vet. Cuddles and chocolate work on me every time.
The story of Butter/Cooper the stray dog that saved a family from a house fire reminded me of The Littlest Hobo an old TV show. Every week this dog would show up somewhere and help someone and then leave.
I can remember watching an even older b/w series of that show as a kid in the 60s!
My childhood lab slept through his first vet visit, including the shots. Mom had to suspend him so the vet could check his hips.
I like Pfizer’s new family even more than Pfizer.
I dunno… if everyone at the vaccination sites looked like Dr X up there, you’d have lineups around the block.
Though animals seem way more ‘evidence-focused’ than some people. (Nikolai & Ekaterina accepted their shots with nary a hiss or paw swat, just a “let’s get this over with and go home for Cat Treats!” look on their faces.)
I turned up the volume on the Pfizer story, and 11/10 Duckies approve
Man, if I could get a cuddle and a kiss from that vet, they could give me all the shots/vaccines they want. Hubba, hubba, indeed! And I agree, I either saw a video of that vet or a similar technique previously. Great idea, distract and then reward.
Great set of links today. Love the name of the budgie and how it “picked” its new home. Senior dog Henry definitely needed the disclaimer, onion chopping ninjas were out in force. But so happy he has a new family. Good job Butter/Cooper!!! The cat has mad skills, football and baseball teams need to start recruiting him.
