Here’s a tiny reminder from reader Elizabeth G. that cuteness is all around us, even in our own backyard:
Look what I just found in my yard. I took him to the pond next to my house.
Computer… ENHANCE!

S0 cute! 🐢 You must live somewhere WARM!
I live in northern Virginia, near DC. It was in the 50s yesterday for the high. A balmy 34 right now.
Much cuter than Taco Tuesday…
Turtle-hance! Squee!
You’re so lucky!
I’m green with envy, first for the teeny little baby turtle and second for the green grass and warm temperature! Believe or not we actually had half a foot of snow today!!!
Oh my yes, how nice is that too see a wee turtle in the grass! I too am curious to know where this can happen!
Winter just won’t leave us here either Georgiana. ☹️ We’re expecting a rain/snow mix today. 😫
Today it was one degree Celsius with rainbows. Very confusing.
It’s sunny but chilly here in New Jersey today. 49F right now (after a night of rain and occasionally-scary wind).
I love turtles. We have a wild box turtle that returns every year (I presume it’s the same one) and likes to dig into our front landscaping mulch and hide there. I occasionally see it and I’ve named it Tommy. Then one day, I saw Tommy and then saw another box turtle, Tommy 1 and Tommy 2. If I come across one in the middle of the road, and if I can safely park, I’ll pick up turtle and safely put it further up in the grassy/wooded area, in the direction it was headed.
Squee!! So cute. Wish it was in my yard. The only critters in our yard are a few lizards, a skunk and mice with suicidal tendancies. I’ve fished out about 5 “late” mice from the pool in the last month. Buying several critter savers/frog logs to hopefully cut down on the carnage. They must be hiding in the backyard weeds which are so bad my friend has nicknamed my yard Jumanji, lol.
I adore tiny terrapins. This one is particularly cute.
