Never heard of moss chickens before (I’ve heard of the bird but not the nickname). I can see why learning to walk is a challenge. That’s a lot of feet for a little one to figure out.

Actually I probably wouldn’t either but recently saw a clip on sports news that comes on during regular news. And they showed quite a few suspected fakes that lead to penalties.

The picture doesn’t give a sense of the size of the kākāpō, it’s sad that there are so few left in the world, I looked it up and there are now 208 left not 199 still not a lot.
The moss chickens have taken over my front lawn. Unless that’s just… moss.

Moss chicken
The moss chickens babies do seem to have a lot to learn – walking seems like a tough one, eating too, I mean there’s a twig with leaves and they seem to be holding on to the twig part. It’s the LEAF!
I guess moss chickens aren’t going to be the ones that play piano for treats…🐔😜
So many cuties this morning. I guess the only way to tell the moss chicken from it’s habitat is look for eyes and beaks. So thrilled Photon came out of his shell and is living his best life. Loving old man TobyKeith, mom must be doing something right for him to hit 21. And the Oscar for best actor goes to the Wombat!
In other news, roommate has exited the building. Came by yesterday while we were at work, took his remaining stuff and the cats (thankfully nothing else) then left keys. And after all the drama, he just quietly moved on. I think he realized we had figured him out and no amount of lying, manipulating or emotional pleas were going to change the outcome. Locks are being changed this weekend too. Sometimes you don’t realize what a weight you’re carrying until the situation resolves itself. I finally feel like I can breathe and relax in my home again.

Great news! Though I’m sure you’ll miss the cats.
Sorta miss the cats but it’s nice to be able to leave doors open, plus not deal with litter, and hair, and cat hacks on the carpet. They did leave a few parting gifts that I cleaned up this morning.
