Goodness, we must look a fright. It happened when my colleague and I were returning from our morning constitutional, and passed a group of ruffians engaged in a spirited winter’s battle. Now, I might have made one or two mild remarks on the subject of their accuracy, but the response of the barbarians was shockingly out of all proportion. Suffice to say, the question of whether they can hit the broad side of a barn has been conclusively settled.

Definitely shocking.
Come have a warm bath, you two.
Aw, come here, I’ll defrost you.
Oh, puppies! I must say, that’s a lovely cooling picture to contemplate after a very hot and sticky day.
I agree. Walked in the house after work and it was almost 90F! in the house. I hate running the AC when no one is home. So I opened all the doors and got a cross breeze going, a few hours later it’s much more comfortable. Mike’s commentary reminds of a British novel from a certain era, gave me a good chuckle.
