Last week, Maru took water from a syringe, which was a tad inconvenient for all concerned. So this week Maru gets a high-tech water fountain.
As with all new technology, it’s the youngster of the family, Kitten Miri, who takes to it first. But eventually Maru gets a drink — in his own Maru-ish way.

I watched the drinking video last night and laughed out loud at the caption “Can Maru drink running water well?” followed promptly by him sticking his face under the stream and then drinking from the bowl while water runs down his face.

It’s a cat commandment that they must drink water the most inconvenient way possible.
I had to give up my dough mixing bowl to use as a water dish for my cat. Any smaller bowl would just result in him knocking it over and water spilled all over the kitchen floor.
Does he need eight quarts of water a day? No, but it’s the principle of the thing that the bowl must be comically large and filled to the brim daily.
Maru is so strange, placidly drinking water while it flows down his face. He is unique.
