” Must…get…treat… ” (licks paw, tries again)
I’m still having a good time in sunny Whitby. Today I learned a valuable lesson: if you insist on eating a baked potato with salad garnish outdoors next to the Abbey on a windy day, be prepared to see most of your lettuce become airborne and float away over Whitby Bay. I just hope it ended up being eaten by a health-conscious seagull.

Note to Alice – if the baked potato becomes airborne along with the lettuce, you should seek shelter! 😁

Got a good laugh out of this, I could just picture it in my mind. Very surprised a seagull didn’t just snatch it out of the air, I’ve heard they can be somewhat agressive when it comes to food.

Yeah, I could watch it all day!

I want a Kaleidokitty!
Here’s hoping all the airlifted pets find good homes, and all the pets that replaced them in the shelter get to return to their people soon.

Can’t wait to catch up on today’s posts at lunch. Wanted to recommend yesterday’s pandemic chicken article. I read it for bedtime and it was lovely. Thanks to whoever sent it to Mike. I really enjoyed it.

Love the solid giraffe so much. Baby giraffes are so very sweet.
Looking forward to other linkies later.

Someone on the site said to name her Ana Molly, cos she’s one of a kind! 😉
I wonder if there have been some like this born before, but we didn’t know it cos they were in the wild? Or eaten?

Another article said that several had been born but it looks like mainly in captivity. 2 in Japan in the 1970s (both from the same mom) and 1 in Uganda.
this was my question too…
In any case, I’d name her Blur

K-kitty is such fun! I want to grab that reaching paw!
And the name for the all brown giraffe should, obviously, be “Spotless”.

Baby giraffe name suggestion: Plain Jane

Kaledokitty is truly psychedelic! So curious how they got that effect – camera in long barrel, filter?? Very cool. Happy for the pets coming out of Maui, hope they find good homes and missing pets still on Maui find their families. Just wow on the spotless giraffe, maybe it’s the opposite of albino. All the coloring is there so much so it covered up the spots. I wonder if like the panther that if you look just right in the sunlight, you’d see the spots. Doggy is not such a good boi, maybe he didn’t like the idea of being left behind. Our big dog Amber did that to my husband’s passport once. Thankfully, we weren’t going anywhere soon but had to fill out a form and put down that age old excuse “My dog ate it”. Plus it was obvious, you could see teethmarks on it. Hope the passport officials got a good laugh out of it.

Wish I lived on the west coast so I could help more! I hope all the missing animals get reunited
with their family. I would be frantic if I couldn’t find my pet!
It would be hard not to be ticked off at your passport-eating pet! Even tho very cute😉

So, ABC News thinks “extradonary” is a word.
The End Times are at hand.

what?
Context please… ’cause. no.

It’s a misspelling in the giraffe article. Not even one that wouldn’t be caught by simply running the spell checker. 🙄 (Chrome wants to correct it to “extradentary” which google tells me means “with more than the use of teeth.”)

True but it’s a local ABC office. Maybe they have a hungover summer intern doing the proof reading.
