Oh, the New Manatees!

Less than a week after releasing three manatees into Florida waters, the Cincinnati Zoo welcomed three new orphans into rehab. Amethyst, Nolia and Waffles will stay at the zoo until they hit their target weight of 600 pounds, then they too will head to Florida.

Speaking of the Cincinnati Zoo…

Isn’t that where Fiona’s little brother Fritz lives? How’s he been doing these days?

That reminds me, I’ve got some salad stuff in the fridge. Thanks, Fritz!

Fritz is eating his greens like the good boy he is and it’s lovely to see Fiona back there keeping a watchful eye on him.

I’m reminded that eating without hands leads to a lot of spilled food. That explains why my cats’ eating areas are always such a mess.

And I love seeing those two.

Interesting that they painted different letters on each of the manatees. I guess it helps them keep track of how each one is doing.

Fritz is a handsome boy! Interesting that heโ€™s eating Romaine lettuce – not very substantial for a very big boy. Maybe itโ€™s s treat,

I’m sure that there are some other mothers of triplets who’d love to do that.

Lovely sea cows and oh so handsome Fritz.

I could watch the manatees all day. My fave fitness guru filmed some of her videos in Miami, right on the ocean, next to a sign about it being a manatee area. If a sea cow had popped its head up in the middle of filming, I would always be doing the same workout.

Washing and eating the lettuce at the same time- very efficient!
