Wouldn’t that be ALL of the Maru videos?🤪
Probably, but you can’t have too much of a good thing!
It’s been a great week at the Shortcakery. My fears that the local fish and chip shop had closed down proved to be groundless, as the owners simply took an extended holiday; after almost nine months in limbo I finally received confirmation that the last carpentry job will be done next Monday; I saw an excellent reworking of “The Merchant of Venice” set in 1936 with Tracy-Ann Oberman (Dr Who’s Yvonne Hartman) as a female money-lender in the East End of London; and after years of Botox injections to treat astigmatism I’ve been put on a waiting list for eye surgery.
Next week should also be enjoyable as I’m going for another short break in Haworth and plan to visit some of the picturesque towns and villages in the vicinity.
Good luck with eye surgery!👍🏼
Thanks! I may have to wait for up to a year but the injections don’t seem to be working anymore.
I hope the waiting list is not too long and that everything goes well for your surgery.
I’m tagging along with you. I found this fabulous video about Haworth! https://www.youtube.com/watch?app=desktop&v=4MQ_-RzvHiw
Let’s go!
There’s a fleeting glimpse of my usual B&B, the Apocathery Guest House, at 9.56 (with the blue sign). And the end-of-terrace house on the right at 5.17 is the one I would have bought last December had I gone through with my plan to move! The Fleece Inn (12.25), where I spent one night last year, was managed by my relative Rhoda Sunderland and her husband in the 1920s. Finally, my dad was a keen cyclist as a teenager in the late 1940s and had a hair-raising experience when his brakes failed on the way down Main Street…
Ahhh, my spirit animal. Did not want to get out of bed this morning. And if this cutie was there, it would be a good excuse to stay, and snuggle, and watch cat videos. Sounds like a good Saturday to me.
I do need to get my butt in gear. I have to do some laundry, and put away clothes, and maybe do cleaning. Off to a Legos club meeting this afternoon plus hubby’s friend coming over to get a rolling storage box out of our yard. I’m beyond thrilled to it out of here, I’ve been wanting it gone for several years. Now that hubby is home for the foreseeable future, his new job is to start clearing out and organizing the sheds. Yeah, he’s been applying for positions but so far no luck. I’m hoping it’s just because of the holidays and things will be more active starting in Jan. Happy weekend before (US) Turkey Day!
Oh my what a lovely belly you have Hamster, would you like some scritches?
I was very happy this week to receive my new iMac 5 days earlier than the estimated date given me when I ordered it. Thank goodness I had an iPad to use for the 2 weeks that I didn’t have a working computer since I do everything on line.
Have a good weekend all.
Yay, Maruception XD
Is Maru ever truly “stuck” in the box…?
Yesterday was my dad’s 84th birthday so we’re doing dinner tonight. He wants pizza and I got ice cream cupcakes from a local ice cream place. Gotta wrap his present. My mom said he needed some winter PJ pants and I was going to get a pair I saw online that had cute bulldogs on them but when I got to the store I found that they were thinner than I expected and also more expensive than I realized, so I went with green (his favorite color) plaid flannel.
Found out earlier this week that the Nestle plant across the way from where I live was closing down yesterday. I had heard about it back in the summer but I didn’t realize the end date was this month. I will miss the smell of coffee before it rains (a smell that spreads for miles and I grew up with all my life) but I will not miss the occasional roaring smokestack they used to subject their neighbors to, sometimes for several days at a time. No idea what will happen to the facility.
How freakin’ cute is this?
Hamster always knows how to relax. I love the fluffy belleh and would like to blow raspberries on it.
Happy Caturday, everybody!
My staycation began yesterday at 3 PM. It’s been a lazy morning so far but I’m about to dive into the first project: hanging shelves on my bedroom wall. (They’ve been sitting for a few weeks because I wanted to be sure of the layout.) Then I might spin some more yarn, from a Shetland sheep named Barry White. It’s beautifully soft, especially for a Shetland. Plus I keep giggling over the name.
Wish me luck!
Had to look twice to find Hamster. Jealous.
BFF taking me shopping this morning (grocery and Christmas). Sewing prep this afternoon.
Cold and sunny today, but toes are telling me to make the most of it, because tomorrow will be different.
Rogers Sugar being on strike is causing problems around here, and probably elsewhere. People are arguing over the last bags on the shelves in stores. We stocked up during jam making season so we’re good for months yet.
Oldest niece’s wedding in two weeks. I’m looking forward to it, not because of the wedding, but because I’m going to shove two other nieces in a corner and tell them a few facts of life about our family that they’re ignoring for their own self-righteousness. They won’t like me very much after, but given the state of health for some family members, their wanting to cancel the Christmas gathering because of a petty squabble over a cheese plate is NOT going to happen. I’d spank them and set them in corners, but that should have been done years ago.
Duckie has been trying to stand on her head in her food dish. She’s been hanging upside down so much recently that I’m wondering if her one brain cell is okay.
Off to enjoy the sun. Have a great weekend, everyone.
