Tortoise turns 191, hopping mad kangaroo, cows form a family, elephant takes a seat, and more.

Pittie Mom: I said no whining!
😂
Happy birthday Jonathan!
Sadly, work won’t let me see pitties. 🙁
How those pups react to the small growl from the adult😂
Pittie mom talks tough, but I bet she spoils those adorable pups!
This is what the person who posted the video wrote.
To answer some of the comments…
1. The adult dog is a neutered male. He is not the father of any puppies.
2. I am NOT a breeder. I foster mommas and puppies for a rescue.
3. His collar is NOT a shock collar. It has an Apple AirTag for tracking.
4. Hunk loves interacting with the puppies and is always supervised. He is not with them more than 5-10 minutes because that many puppies is overwhelming.
For my part I would so adopt the last little puppy who won’t back down and can’t stop wagging it’s tail, that’s my kind of puppy!
Ha! I knew that wasn’t the mom or dad! Puppies would have behaved totally different. If it was mom, they’d be trying for milk, no matter how old they are.
Hate to ’nuff, but those puppies look terrified of adult dog. I couldn’t watch to the end.
It’s just becos dog is not mom/dad. Puppies are fine. That’s mostly a “I’m in charge here and don’t you forget it” greeting
N. Fritz, I don’t know what your reasons are for interpreting the video this way, but if it’s any comfort to you, the puppies don’t look terrified to me; some look interested and others perhaps slightly wary, but not terrified. Big dog is doing very tiny play pounces, and some of the puppies are pouncing back—or trying to. Also, that “growl” isn’t a real growl. Big dog never curls his lip.
My late Ricky had a pretty big repertoire of noises that a lot of people who didn’t know him might have interpreted as growls, but I could always tell the difference; some of them were moans of pleasure or signifiers of approval.
Of course, at 7.5 lbs, Ricky could be terrifying: “I still got four teeth and I know how to use ’em!”
Sweet Orange Chicken! Ginger cats give so much love when they’re not stressed. I’m glad he found his people.
Mama and Teddy *sniff*
So sniffy.
No adjustment period, no ‘get to know you,’ just HI MOM!
One of those puppies looks like the Little Rascals’ Petey.
That Tortoise is like a slowly moving redwood.
Jonathan was born in the same year as Louisa May Allcott and Lewis Carroll. The Bronte sisters had not yet written their novels and Charles Dickens wouldn’t publish “A Christmas Carol” for another eleven years. Donizetti’s opera “L’elesir d’amore” premiered in Milan and Marie Taglioni starred in the first version of “La Sylphide” in Paris. Andrew Jackson was president of the USA and William IV was king of England (his niece Victoria was only 13).
And yet I swear Jonathan doesn’t look a day over 150!
I don’t know if Johnathan’s birthday is what inspired SNL’s skit this week re: a giant tortoise, but I got a good laugh out of it. By some odd coincidence, there are 3 such tortoises on my block, including mine. One of them always gets out and then people call me thinking he’s escaped from my yard. Mine is about 2x the size of the escape artist tortoise, Claud, and a bit bigger than the tortoise in the SNL skit, but thankfully, she never gets out of my yard! She’s practically a hatchling at 25 years old, and yes, she is provided for in my will.
Yes, that IS how I would feel knowing I had an animal that lives longer than me.
Wonder if some herbivorous dinosaurs lived that long?
