Can birdy make me a cup or does he just stir after it’s made?
How big is this cafe if they have 100 dogs?

Parrots are so smart and cheeky.
I want to be in the middle of that husky run!!!

Cuddle type cafes seem to be a nice respite for people to cuddle and relax with the animals. However a hundred dogs, to me thatโs waaay too many and not good for the staff or the well being of the dogs. That parrot stirring the coffee cracked me up.

Yeah, I would not find that many dogs relaxing. One or two is my limit. (I mean, I can only pet a max of two at a time, right?)

So we just had a 4.8 magnitude earthquake about 55 miles from me…
That’s not cute.

Oh my, hope nothing got damaged. The few Iโve experienced, I didnโt know at first what was happening. I just had bad headaches afterwards. Hey what happened to my avatar (?) picture?

Yep. NYC here. I thought maybe the boiler was about to explode or an array of tanks were coming down the street or something. Everything shook, a lot! That was a first!
AJApril 5, 2024 / 12:36 pm
Sorry about that, I saw the news this morning. Glad you’re ok. Been through a few of them, luckily just minor shakings, but it’s no fun seeing everthing moving.
Ricky & Bibi's MomApril 5, 2024 / 1:13 pm
Very noticeable where I live. Bibi didn’t react at all, so I figured it wasn’t serious. Otherwise she’d have been hiding behind a toilet before a felt a vibration at all.
I was in NYC for an earthquake in the 1980s. It woke me up, and I remember thinking, Boy, that’s the biggest truck that ever went down West 54th Street! Later I realized I hadn’t heard anything, just felt it, and realized it was an earthquake.
I was visiting Los Angeles when the Northridge earthquake hit in 1994. THAT one was MUCH scarier.
For today’s adventures in tectonics, I got an alert from NYC about 20โ30 minutes after it was all over. Not impressed with timely response!

I was living 100 miles away from LA during the Northridge quake, and I felt it. The cats knew it before I did–they all hid under the bed.

Yup, that’s what my friend’s cats didโand they didn’t come out for three days!

Saw the news on my phone while we were shopping, glad you’re OK

Allein, you ok?
Happy squeaks from birdie stirring coffee.

Yeah. My house shook for a few seconds; nothing fell or anything, I don’t think. Took me a second to realize what was happening. Not exactly a frequent occurrence here.
Last time we had one it was 2.something and was only a mile or so from my house. I don’t remember much shaking (just felt like someone shook my bed for a second) but then again it did wake me up early in the morning so maybe I just missed it by the time I realized why I was suddenly awake in the dark.
I imagine our Philly-area peeps probably felt it, too.

I’m glad you’re okay. Hope Dana is too!

Gaah those kittens! I forget how tiny they are as newborns until a big cat, like their foster mom Colman, shows up for scale.
AJApril 5, 2024 / 12:42 pm
Birdie has me laughing too hard, I think he needs to stop sampling the coffee. And dang, that’s a lot of dogs. All I could think of was the running of the bulls in Spain.
