Links: What a Stroke of Luck

Sea lion hops in boat, cute felt animals, wildlife encounters, Maru’s birthday party, and more.

And finally: Maru’s Birthday Party

We already saw his Year 17 highlight reel, but we couldn’t miss the festivities.

I love that the elephant and the world cow came out to the tent for the party.

Wow, the expressions on the faces of those felt animals. I can’t pick a favorite…

I looked at the bearpile.com link on the BP article and instead of “sold” all her creations are marked as “adopted.” 🙂

    Happy birthday Maru.

If this happened at my house I would run away screaming and never come back.

#50 So, Some Bees Decided To Build A Hive Between The Window And The Shutters

Right? I’ve been getting wasps (I think they’re wasps) in one of my windows, just hanging out between the screen and the window (which is not open and clearly will not be any time soon). I can’t see any holes or gaps in the screen where they’re getting in. I looked around outside and didn’t see any nests along the roof or anything. I don’t know where they come from or why they seem to like my window so much.

Another screen has an open corner because the rubber strip that holds it in broke. I think I just need to get all my screens replaced.

It’d be super cool to have an inside view of a hive, but I’d rather it be through remote viewing equipment. I support my local pollinators, but I’d prefer not to have them as roommates, y’know?

Huzzah for that poor sea lion, who’s now getting the help he needs. Imagine having a sea lion flop into your boat!

Love the werewolf cat so much. And those tiny kittens. And the wildlife encounter photos. These are great links.

On this Memorial Day in the US, I need to thank all our service members. The choice to serve, and possibly die, is an amazing one. Last night, I watched Peter Jackson’s documentary on British soldiers in WWI and was simply blown away at the sacrifices.

Growing up we’d always buy red paper poppies from the Boy Scouts or VFW.

Miss those but agree, salute those who gave so much for us.
