I was so pleased that my girls were featured on Weekend Thread, laying on my bed with paws intertwined. Here they are looking like a Renaissance painting. I love them so much!

Happy Caturday. My head hurts. But the dogs were good again.
Lots of people have had headaches this week. Do you think it could be attributed to the smoke from Canada and poor air quality?
The summer is more than half over and I’ve got two writing workshops behind me. Heading north tomorrow. Lots of logistics – picking up BF halfway, two days of driving but the payoff (despite the smoke) should be sweet!

I don’t know. I haven’t been outside in a few days, except to check the mail. Probably more to do with my terrible sleep habits and dusty bedroom.

Sophie and Luna are adorable, it’s so nice that they love each other, my two used to be like that but they don’t cuddle anymore.
I’ve been sick for over a week now, the sore throat is gone but the coughing is still present. Some days I feel like I’m getting better like yesterday I was feeling almost back to normal but then last night I got almost no sleep at all because every time I tried to lie down I started coughing uncontrollably.
That’s it for me, I hope everyone has a good weekend.
Sorry you’re still not feeling good. The coughs will get you every time, hope it subsides tonight so you can get some sleep.
Maybe you should see a doctor? The coughing uncontrollably is worrying, especially as it’s preventing sleep.

So sorry. I’m in the runny stage of a cold myself, after a week with an extremely sore throat. I hope your cough goes away soon.

Well, Thor is doing better. Just suffering from being an old man with some kidney issues. It’s not horrible so I’m just keeping him on a low protein diet for now. But now Valkyrie has done something to her eye. It’s week 2 of eye drops and poor baby is a cone head so she doesn’t scratch her eye with her paw. Ay least she’s semi-cooperative in dealing with both.
Quiet weekend over here. Taking dogs to the park, then maybe some painting later. Tonight we going out to dinner to celebrate hubby’s birthday and our 30th anniversary. My mind is still trying to grasp that concept, it’s like wow, where did the time go?! Tomorrow errands, maybe cleaning, might go to museums if there’s any new exhibitions. Happy weekend all!

Thanks for the good wishes. And he might be your dad in a dog version, lol. Especially if your dad has a bit of a pot/beer belly and spreads the majority of his time snoozing on the couch.

Sophie and Luna know how to enjoy life! They’re gorgeous and so sweet together.
I’m pleased to report that play therapy seems to be helping my cats get along. They can all be in the same room together when the wands come out. Fred and Lav can even be within a few feet of each other, without hostilities breaking out. Lav will still freak if Scorpius gets too close, and he still menaces her, but we can’t have everything.
Sounds like everybody has been or is sick this weekend. I can finally swallow without it feeling like I’m gargling broken glass but energy is still low. And now my eye is worryingly red, though not the bright colors of pink eye. Worked from home all week, with two very short days. I did not get to impress our new owner with my Dutch as a consequence. But that gives me more time to practice duolingo’s very helpful phrases like “perhaps you are a duck” and “the old lady has forty cats.”
Take care of yourselves, everybody. Let’s move toward a cough-free and headache-free Cutetropolis!

Oh, we’ve got a couple of basking beauty queens here! Lovely. to see Luna and Sophie again!
My last day in lovely dry California. Don’t want to rub it in, but the weather has been unreal here. Dry and 80s for two weeks. Couldn’t as for more. I fly home to Philly this evening. I’ve browsed the comments but will come back to them while waiting at the airport.

Not much has been happening at the Shortcakery, but one of the things that didn’t happen was roof damage caused by torrential rain. Although the alarmingly expensive roof repairs I had to pay for last year came as a shock I dread to think of the water damages bill I might be facing now if the problems hadn’t been fixed…Next door’s kitchen roof let in a lot of water last week and is still patched up with plastic sheeting. Mind you, bearing in mind that the slates have been in place for 120 years I don’t think we can complain!
