Good morning Everyone! Aw – thank you for posting my sweet Butchie, Mike. I woke up to find him on a fresh pile of laundry, because of course.
Its a beautiful day here in Philly, not too hot yet which is good, I need to go to the farmers market and then I’m coming home to do lots of cooking. Hopefully it will be a peaceful and uneventful Saturday.
Love to you all in this wonderful community.
Oh, he’s so handsome Mr. Butch is. He looks positively radiant. I think it will another quiet weekend here in SoCal. Weather has finally cooled off and we’ll be in the 70s. There’s a pow wow up on one of the reservations so we might go to that. I also have stuff to drop off at the charity shop, and a few other errands. Maybe painting and a little cooking/baking for the week. Have a good weekend all!
Could someone please ask Butch the answer to “what is the meaning of life?” before he’s distracted by a squirrel.
I’ve had a bit of an unsettling time health-wise. The dosage of the steroids I’m taking to treat autoimmune hepatitis has been reduced but to make up for this I’ve been prescribed another drug which seems to be having adverse side effects, particularly hair loss. During the past six weeks or so about a third of my crowning glory has parted company with me! I’m going for a bone density scan on Monday to discover if there are more underlying problems. The strange thing is that on the whole I feel better now than I have done since just before Christmas last year when the hepatitis flared up…
The meaning of life, the universe and everything is still 42. But I’ve been told the question as changed. 😉
😂
The purpose of Butch’s life is to eat, play with toys, snuggle with hoomin, have a safe, warm, and happy place to sleep, and play outside in nice weather. Doesn’t quite answer the question, but maybe it helps?
I’m glad you are feeling so much better, but I’m sorry to hear about your hair. My grandmother had a similar thing happen to her – medication made her hair fall out. She started taking Silica. Her hair came back thicker than ever and her fingernails also got stronger. It was just a powder she drank stirred in water every morning. I think it was over the counter.
Alice, so sorry about all this. Medical stuff is just no fun. If you’d like a hand-knitted hat in any style, reach out to Mike for my contat info and we’ll figure it out.
So sorry about the hair! That is hard to deal with cos it’s so obviously “out there”: Otherwise, no one would know there’s something wrong with you. I like the Silica idea! I’m glad you feel better, tho! That’s great!👍🏼
Happy Caturday! I’ll take any wisdom Butch can share.
This week has been…a lot, newswise…but at least dogs were good.
Thank dog for dogs, and for WRD.
These were too funny! Love Winry’s incredible dream response; Ziggy’s pool enthusiasm; and, unbelievably, CAPYBARA NINJA WARRIOR!
WRD is my sanity some days. Don’t know how we lived without this👍🏼
Anyone else not getting the “notify me of follow-up comments” confirmation email?
Weird…I got the email after my most recent comment…
Butch looks very enlightened indeed.
Not much going on here, it’s been a very quiet week. The only “exciting” thing we did was buying 2 new nice bird feeders for the back yard to replace the cheap plastic ones we had.
In other news the weather is getting very autumn like here and although it’s a bit early in the season some of the trees have started changing colour. But summer is not totally gone we’re suppose to get a few late hot days close to 29C/84F next week.
Hope everyone has a good weekend.
It’s not a riot, it’s an organized kerfuffle.
Fantastic. I laughed myself silly. Plus AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW.
Those baby baked potatoes are adorbs! I love the narration, laughing out loud.
Greetings, fellow Cutetropolitans. And to you, too, handsome Butch.
A cool but sunny day here. Supposed to get a month’s worth of rain tomorrow, so I will be putting the deck away today. A bit early, but I will leave my chair and table out, so I can do my usual fall reading outside with apple slices and a mug of tea. Rain won’t stop me.
It’s been a week since Little Duckie went to the Rainbow Bridge, but I think she’s been talking to our local birds, because the tree outside my window is packed with tiny birds singing. I’m hoping that some will get comfortable enough with me that they will join me for seeds, peanuts and suet. Maybe even graham crackers, in Duckie’s honour.
I seem to have caught my first cold of the season, and I am NOT impressed. I felt bad enough yesterday to do a Covid test, but it was negative. Now I’m looking to find someone to give my cold to, because I’m such a generous person.
I’ll be spending the weekend finishing up some projects, and next week I can relax.
Have a great weekend, everyone. Hugs to everyone.
Take care of yourself, I cough a cold recently and it turned into bronchitis and I was sick for a month!
Butch, you sure know how to enjoy life! And how to look good doing it!
Hope everybody is hanging on after all the bad news last weekend. I’m sending special hugs to Duckie, Muppet, and MurrayC.
It’s an uncharacteristically busy weekend for me, because of birthday tomorrow. Dinner with friends tonight, baby goat yoga tomorrow morning, and then a scheduled call with a dear friend, plus (hopefully) some unscheduled calls from folks tomorrow. The schedule friend and I have known each other since we were in our 20s, but somehow we lost touch and it’s high time we reconnected.
Hugs to you all, and remember that I always hold you in my heart, but especially at times like this when we’re grieving.
wait, what? “baby goat yoga”??? please elaborate!
and happy early birthday! I hope you have a wonderful weekend
Okay, SAME??
And Ditto on bday!
Thank you both for the birthday wishes.
Early this week, I got an email from High Plains Environmental Center, announcing that they were celebrating their birthday this weekend. It’s a local initiative, and one of the first of its kind, that tries to keep some wild in the suburbs. They maintain the wildlife areas around the reservoirs where I walk, for instance. https://suburbitat.org/
So part of their celebration includes BABY GOAT YOGA. How could I possibly pass that up? I’m only turning 60 once. (maybe) I’m not expecting a great workout, but they will have a photo session after the yoga lesson with the baby goats. They tell us to wear complete shirts, as opposed to just a sports bra, because the hooves can be sharp. I’ll report back tomorrow.
Caturday Dance Party!
I could actually dance along with them. Except for the tail wagging.
One more before I go do some laundry. Nothing to do with animals, it’s just cool.
