Ahhh! How do I get little owls to climb on my arms?

Love the burrowing owls, so cute! The rest will have to wait I’m off to get my semi-annual blood test.

I want to live near burrowing owls! They’re adorable and I want to be friends!

I was fortunate to see a couple of them while driving around Rocky Mountain Arsenal. They were pretty far away, though.

I shudder to think what that seal pup swam through on the Jersey shore.

Hey!
(Brigantine is about an hour and a half from me.)

I remember swimming at the shore, my father insisted that we shower off immediately. Also remember when they had real boardwalks. Not like Florida where they drive on the beach and inevitably lose a car when the tide comes in.
Only beach that horrified him more was when he found out that I swam at the beaches on Staten Island.

I’m glad she was rescued and fed! Poor baby. Imagine that experience!

Dude with the burrowing owls has several more videos of them on his Instagram, this one is my favorite (wait for it…):
(My parents live in rural New Mexico and had a colony of burrowing owls near their house a couple summers ago. They had a lot of cool stories to tell about them, but definitely didn’t get THIS up-close and personal!)

That “Americas” series narrated by Tom Hanks that came out last year had an episode that featured burrowing owls. They followed one who was looking for a mate and I was never so invested in the love life of a tiny bird. (He got the girl in the end.)

Now I have to know more. And I really really really want a burrowing owl for a neighbor!
