Fiona’s settling into her new home at the Cincinnati Zoo and enjoying lots of playtime with her loving mama Bibi. And now that the public can see her up close, they’re loving her too. (via Lois M.)

Fiona the preemie hippo now weighs 317 pounds, which is the normal weight for a full-term hippo of her age, according to the Cincinnati Zoo. Fiona and her mother Bibi are making more visits to the outdoor pool where they bond and play together.

It’s finally happened. After a premature birth and round-the-clock care, Fiona has joined her mother Bibi in the main hippo pool at the Cincinnati Zoo, swimming together and getting along swimmingly.
