It wouldn’t be Caturday without Maru, and fortunately we have a new video compilation of some of the goofiest moments from his rambunctious younger years. Between leaping into boxes and chasing balloons, it’s easy to see why the world loved him so.
For today’s open thread we welcome the very dapper Squirt, a stray cat who posed for pictures while getting neutered for re-release. But the process left him a bit disheveled, notes reader Tara O.:
He is so adorable, but I wonder who was in charge of painting his tux. They made a mess! My guess is they were either “in training,” drunk, or ran out of paint. I mean, they only manage one white eye brow. Sloppy craftsmanship if you ask me. But it’s not his fault. Poor dear. He was given extra sweetness for his personality.
Breaking News — The Cutetropolis Municipal Zoo has become engulfed in scandal as its most recent acquisition of a panda bear has been revealed to be an impostor. Reached for comment, zoo director Irwin Devious defended the action, saying “Look, do you have any idea how hard it is to get a real panda? There’s a waiting list, there’s paperwork — so I took a shortcut, sue me.”
