To usher in the New Year, Maru gets a brand new pillow that he can knead until it’s a dishrag. Meanwhile, Kitten Miri plays a spirited game of cat and mouse. Happy New Year, Maru!
Maru and Hana and Miri
Japan’s least claustrophobic cat, Maru devotes his life to squeezing into any box, while his partner Hana puts up with this silliness.
Happy Maru Year!
The kagami-mochi is a traditional Japanese decoration to bring good luck for the coming year. It’s definitely good luck for Maru, because it gives him an empty box to play in before he assumes his traditional role as the holiday centerpiece.

A Very Maru Christmas
This Christmas, Maru gets a visit from a Santa Claus powered by artificial intelligence, which means that it runs hopelessly in circles wasting electricity until a human bails it out. Maru, Hana and Kitten Miri give the jolly old bot a chilly reception, until they see what he brought them.

Merry Christmas to Andrew Y. and all of Cutetropolis.
Maru Enjoys a Bowl
Maru gets some early holiday presents: A bowl based on Devo’s famous flowerpot hat, which is so comfortable that Hana and Kitten Miri want their own; and a creepy toy that is noticeably less popular. Later, Maru tests a scientific hypothesis: Is a cat’s choice of beer box truly random or can it be controlled?
He’s such a great test subject, Andrew Y.
