A wise philosopher once said: Give Maru a fish, and he can eat for a day; Teach Maru to fish, and he will become convinced the bathtub is full of invisible carp swimming around in extremely dry water and he’ll spend the entire afternoon jumping in and out trying to ambush one.
At least it’s exercise, Andrew Y.
Hana: “You’re so weird.”
I think he’s playing with a marble or some little thing like that – I hear the clicking. By the by, where’s the drain in that tub?????
In the center.
Ah, there it is – I had to go back to find it. I thank you!?
Yes, he definitely has some kind of toy. At about :35 you can see him holding a small white thing in his mouth just before he jumps out of the tub.
I am assuming it’s his favorite toy, this:
:3
❤️?????
I can just imagine every time he opens his mouth..”No.. No…NO!”
Which makes me wonder what Maru’s voice would sound like…
See, that is the most intelligent place for the drain. All bathtubs should be like that.
I love.
The sound of a thick tail thwapping.
Brings happiness.
Almost a Haiqu.
A. Maru’s puffy tail is the best thing in the world today.
B. I’m going to assume that tub is Maru’s exclusive play area and is not for human use. There’s no other way to explain how clean it is! 🙂
You have to remember the tub is in the Mugumogu abode, where the floors never are dirty or cluttered, without any sign of kitty hair on any surface and which is where Maru and Hana live.
Indeed, Mugumogu always sets a high standard! I’d like to invite her to my home for lessons on immaculate cleanliness. And if she’d care to bring her cats for a play date with my Katie and Theo, I suppose that would be OK. 😉
The tub is an ofuro, which is the best kind of Japanese bathtub. You just soak in it after you wash yourself from head to toe at the low faucet with the hose where Maru was drinking from the plastic tub (which is probably where Mugumogu sits when she washes). And then after you’re done bathing, there’s a cover to put on the tub to keep the water hot and be able to reuse it several times, since you’re sparkling clean when you get in it.
I would KILL for an ofuro.
Zoom zoom Maru >:3 quick as lightning XD
I’m always surprised to see that Maru can move fast and depressed when I compare my house cleanliness to Mugumogu’s.
You can compare to my house; it’ll probably make you feel better.
Mine would make you both feel better. ?
Mine too, ugh – if we pool our resources, maybe we can get Mugumogo to do a tutorial!
So THAT’S what Lily is doing in the bathtub! She loves jumping in and out of it too. And playing between the shower curtain and the liner curtain, and hiding behind the curtain on the floor so she can pounce on my feet when I use the bathroom and ………….
Stripes likes to get in between the curtains, too. Sometimes he just sits there on the side of the tub. He also likes to play with the water that’s left behind after someone takes a shower (which is rare, because my parents don’t use that bathroom; when I stay there I fully expect him to be waiting outside the bathroom after I take a shower so he can run in and hop into the tub as soon as I open the door).
I think they like to get in the bath after it drains but is still warm. Our cat did – except now she’s geriatric and doesn’t get around like she once did.
Stars won’t, but sometimes she’ll watch Stripes. She won’t get wet.
We used to turn on the faucet and he would try to catch the water before it went down the drain. Then one time I closed the drain and once he realized the water was getting deeper he backed out real quick!
Lily got up on the edge of the tub once while I was in the shower and slipped off into the tub getting her tail all wet! Needless to say she waits now until I’m done!
????
Grace loves to play in the tub. Run around in circles, jump out, run out of the bathroom, run back in, swat my feet for a minute, jump into tub, repeat.
Has anyone put a ping pong ball in their tub and watched the action? Incredible sounds that thing makes when kitty swats it all over. Give it a try. I think it will become one of your kitty’s favorite playtimes!! For starters, don’t just put it in but put it in and give it a swat to get the action going. 🙂 Be sure kitty sees what it does.
But…but…but it’s not a tub, people.
It’s a BOX!
That explains its attractiveness to The Circle. He likes to put a round cat in a square/rectangular hole.
Our Angel kitty (RIP) used to jump into the tub to drink a little of the water I’d run in there for her. One day we had a big windstorm and were pretty sure the power was going to go out, so we filled the tub in order to have water for flushing the toilet while the well pump was down. I didn’t see Angel come in to the bathroom while I was getting ready for work- poor girlie tried to jump in to get a drink and ended up getting a full bath!
Maru always wanted a “Bigger Box”
