Fiona Family Reunion

Big news: Fiona the preemie hippo has joined her parents Bibi and Henry together for the first time. The Cincinnati Zoo says the encounter went well and that Bibi managed the encounter like a pro, nudging Henry if he got too close. The short visit is a good sign that the family will be able to share the outdoor habitat together.

Thanks to Ricky’s Mom for spotting this.

Did anyone else think it’s kinda appropriate that a hippo group is called a bloat??? Did not know that, cute stories, pictures and EDUCATIONAL? Thanks Mike! And I’m loving the video and Fiona bopping around in the water. Go Fiona!!!

YES – what a great collective noun! Hippos are very mouthy – I had no idea – Bibi gave Henry a good ol’ chomp when he got a little too familiar! Good to know that Fiona has a champion.

Bibi may not know that she’s Fiona’s mom, but she’s certainly acting like a great mom with her! Such an adorable (hee!) bloat! Henry obviously understands when he’s being told to BACK OFF by Bibi, and he obeys her very well. Yay! for Fiona being together with Mom AND Dad!

    Yay for Fiona and Family!

She might not, but I still like to think that Bibi knows Fiona is her baby.

On a side note, I went to youtube to watch the chicken video and this was the first video in the sidebar. 🙂

From start to this moment is one of the best animal/human stories I have had the privilege to see.

Great job by humans and all three hippos.
    Amazing.

This is so beautiful! It would be easier to watch, though, if the entire neighbourhood wasn’t cutting onions all at the same time.

Fiona’s writing a sequel to Dr. Seuss’s ‘Hop on Pop’ – it’s called ‘Nom on Mom.’
