Happy, Happy Hana

Hana takes a break from Maru’s weird behavior and checks herself into Mugumogu Massage for a full-body rubdown, including the all-important butt scritches. Heavenly!

And a big hand for Andrew Y.

I think she needs a bigger massage table…

Agreed. At 1:04, I thought she was merging into Maru. The general posterior view was definitely the same.

Nice callipygian view, there, Hana! Even if it was momentary – very tasteful. I was happy to be patting my own cat as I watched this – an interactive moment.

When I rub my fingers down my cat’s spine and around her tail she closes her eyes in bliss, kneads and rolls. It makes me happy to see her so happy.

What is it about the cat butt that makes some cats go nuts? I’ve seen some cats enjoy being spanked on the tail area. Whatever rocks their casbah, but is there a physiological reason?

Foster Dad John, who streams a kitten cam on Youtube, had a kitty mom who LOVED being spanked. It was wonderful to watch her going back for more.

our cat loves to be thumped on her flanks – alternating flank – and then she turns over on her back for a belly rub, then does her back leg kicks and love bites – and when she bites a bit hard I say “easy” and she licks me.

My cat Bidi loves to be spanked, she has a routine. First she meows until you slap her butt, then when you stop she spins around and swats your hand with her paw, pointy bits exposed but without actually scratching you. Then she’ll shake her tail as if she was marking and turns around again and starts the whole process over.

And that’s why we love them. They’re not shy about expressing their emotions.
