Awwwww, that’s so stinkin’ cute – little critter just wants to be warm. AND to help its person pass exams.

Hello, all. I just wanted to leave a note to say that me and my pets are ready to ride out the storm. I’ve written posts to last until Tuesday morning, and I’ll try to check in with you as the situation progresses. Good luck to all in harm’s way.

      Be safe Mike!

The latest on Irma shows it moving closer to the western Florida coast and further from us on the east coast. But it’s increased in strength back to a 5 which isn’t good. We’re all tucked in and plan to wait it out like we did last year with Matthew. We weren’t told to evacuate as we’re inland and don’t live in a mobile home. Our son and daughter-in-law are here and did all the heavy work, bless them. Hopefully we’ll all be back up and running with no damage. Thinking good thoughts for all of us. Hopefully Jose will be kind to us and lose strength so we don’t have to put up with him also in a few days.

Good luck and keep us posted if you can.

You are the 2nd on the list for us, the Cutetropolian community who will be waiting for your signal that you are ok after the next few days. Mike, Flowerfan, anyone else? I imagine this will be the focus on tomorrow’s open thread. Virtual hug!

Good thoughts sent your way! This storm sounds like it’s gonna be a whopper and just hammer FL. Anyone who’s in the path of Irma, if you can’t evacuate, hunker down and stay safe.

Thanks for the update Mike. Sending good thoughts to you and everyone else down there that you all remain safe! ???

This has been a bizarre couple of weeks. An 8.2 earthquake in Mexico, three mass coronal ejections and counting, gods know how many more hurricanes (there’s another forming after Jose), the west coast is on fire, and at this point I wouldn’t be surprised if interdimensional cephalopod invaders began a blitz on Washington. “May you live in interesting times” indeed.

I’ll pray for whoever needs it to whatever higher power is available.

I did a lot of cuddling of fluffy little chicks when I was a little girl on the farm. We sold eggs and bought new chicks every year to keep egg production up. I spent MANY hours sitting on a bag of chick feed in a nice warm brooder house with little fluffies and listened to their little peep-peeps for hours a day. Always cradling a little fuzzball on my lap as we both napped. If my folks couldn’t find me, all they had to do was come to the brooder house, and there I’d be. I’d love to do that even now as an 80 year old!! This little chick brought back lots of fond memories!!
