Cute little paws tippy-tappying across your face as you sleep. 😀

    • allein ? September 20, 2017 / 9:16 am

      I’m never sleeping again, thanks.

      • Duckie ? September 20, 2017 / 11:39 am

        Same here.

        • Blue Footed Booby September 20, 2017 / 12:14 pm

Once when my father was in the army, he laid down for a nap during a lul in whatever training exercise they were doing. His men sat there and watched as a banana slug oozed across his face. Frankly, I’d prefer a spider.

          • Duckie ? September 20, 2017 / 2:49 pm

            Eeewww!! ?

            • Laura September 20, 2017 / 3:58 pm

I will try to cheer up the arachnophobes by saying: Isn’t that stupendously floofy cat beautiful? I cannot *imagine* the amount of brushing he requires, however!

    • AB September 20, 2017 / 2:09 pm

Oh, good! My spider buddy might eat some of the demodex mites (they live in your eyelashes and come out at night to mate on your face).

      • allein ? September 20, 2017 / 2:21 pm

Okay, I might have to unsubscribe from this thread…

      • Duckie ? September 20, 2017 / 2:50 pm

What is this: gross out Duckie (and everyone else) day?

      • Blue Footed Booby September 21, 2017 / 9:31 am

Their digestive systems are so efficient they never need to poop during their entire lives. They are, in fact, entirely without anus.

    • Smartypants September 20, 2017 / 3:35 pm

      Oh, I love spiders!

If I remember right (it’s been a while) Oliver Sacks wrote in his book “Hallucinations” that for some reason spiders are one of the most common hypnagogic hallucinations (things you see when you’re half asleep and half awake). I’ve found that very helpful – now when I see a spider scampering across my pillow, it’s my cue to realize “Oh, I must still be dreaming” – and it’s true!

      • allein ? September 20, 2017 / 3:49 pm

I wonder it that has anything to do with eye floaters…sometimes I think I’m seeing a bug but it’s just a spot in my eye.

        • Smartypants September 20, 2017 / 6:23 pm

That sounds v. plausible – the other thing I ‘see’ is a sort of tumbling fuzzball, which could also be an eye floater.

  2. Dana September 20, 2017 / 8:42 am

Sorry, but no…spiders still aren’t cute. Minnie is! And I think that Goldie thinks she’s a lap dog. Adorable.

  3. allein ? September 20, 2017 / 8:59 am

Yeah, I’m gonna take a nope on the spider paws, thanks. Moving on to white giraffes.

OMG the little felt owl. And the pug!

  4. Ricky's Mom September 20, 2017 / 9:26 am

That’s a big, fat NOPE on the spideys. Thanks a whole heckuva lot for all my future nightmares, BFB. (shudder)

According to the GoFundMe page, mini Minnie’s surgery was a success, BTW.

    • allein ? September 20, 2017 / 9:31 am

Yay for mini Minnie! She’s adorable and I want to cuddle her.

    • debg September 20, 2017 / 10:54 am

Hurray! May she soon grow to be as big as Pixel!

    • Kar September 20, 2017 / 2:29 pm

I’ve had a vomiting cat, those are NOT fun. If I knew what the issue was, I would’ve gotten surgery so i’m glad Minnie’s was a success.

You just HATE watching a hungry cat try to eat but then can’t keep it down.

I hope that Minnie’s pounds on the pounds now.

    • Laura September 20, 2017 / 3:49 pm

I saw on Instagram that Minnie’s esophagus had been constricted by ligaments so much that it was only 3 mm in diameter! No wonder the little sweetie had so much trouble gaining weight!

And that Russian artist’s needle felting is just about the best I have ever seen!

I will horrify my daughter by reminding her of the Girl Scout camp in Texas where we used to go camping with her troop. In the winter, the daddy longlegs spiders would cover the inside of the cabin roofs so thickly they would look like fur!! [::shudder::]

      • allein ? September 20, 2017 / 3:51 pm

Note to self: never go camping in Texas.

      • beemoused September 20, 2017 / 4:24 pm

Also never going camping in TX.

Thank you for the confirm on Minnie–I was wondering how she did in her surgery. Here’s to lots of noms and good meals and weight gain for the little darling!

  5. Sam September 20, 2017 / 9:42 am

If it has more than 5 legs, it is dead to me. Squish!

    • Faye September 20, 2017 / 1:22 pm

      Octopus will getch ya !

  6. michael September 20, 2017 / 9:58 am

I did not see a picture of the spider…just it’s ‘paws’. Gee, I wonder why.

    • dubravkamcvmd September 20, 2017 / 10:10 am

Yeah, nice try with the spider “paws” – close but no cigar. Some insects are really beautiful but generally – yech!

  7. Mal September 20, 2017 / 10:13 am

I love the floofy spider feets. I have recently acquired a tiny pet spider in my kitchen. It is the size of a barley kernel and it is taking care of all the damn fruit flies that arrived with the overripe peaches. Thanks, hon!

    • Laura September 20, 2017 / 3:53 pm

We had hunting spiders that lived in the outside of the windowsills and would eat all the bugs trying to get in the house. As long as they stayed outside and not inside, I liked them. But I drew a very firm line in the sand — we, window!

      • Laura September 20, 2017 / 4:37 pm

Why did autocorrect change “er” to “we”? I hate autocorrect!

        • allein ? September 20, 2017 / 4:45 pm

My friend’s maiden name is Zucker and when I typed her name in a Facebook comment last night it tried to change it to Zuckerberg.

  8. debg September 20, 2017 / 10:55 am

I too love the spider paws. And the big cat. And the little cat. And the white giraffim (cherubim, seraphim, giraffim–it’s the right plural). And the happy dancing doggie. How can you not dance to that song?

Those needlefelted wool critters are truly amazing. I’ve needlefelted, and it takes a lot of work to get that much expression onto a face.

    • allein ? September 20, 2017 / 11:01 am

(cherubim, seraphim, giraffim–it’s the right plural).

      Works for me!

      • Laura September 20, 2017 / 4:38 pm

“Giraffim” is now added to the Cutropolitan dictionary!

    • Blue Footed Booby September 20, 2017 / 12:23 pm

      @DEBG
      giraffim
I’m literally dying. You killed me. You monster.

      • debg September 20, 2017 / 9:54 pm

It’s not even my joke–stole it from an ex-boyfriend’s father. It’s been cracking me up for more than 20 years.

  9. Maia September 20, 2017 / 11:20 am

The goldie’s little tail-wags brought tears to my eyes. Such a sweet scene!

  10. tara September 20, 2017 / 11:35 am

Yeah, nope for me too on the spider feet. I tried to look at it from a learning, knowledge is good, perspective, but have decided actually – not helpful at all. I think it is the claws that really ….. well I didn’t need to know that! nor have a visual! My toes are still uncurling.
Of course, reading the responses has been most entertaining! 😉 Maybe there is a method to Mike’s madness?

All of the other stuff – precious as always. I can’t believe the Coon is called Pixel! Maybe Mega Pixel – but really Minnie should be called pixel. Aren’t they both too much. sigh.

    • Catwhisperer September 20, 2017 / 11:44 am

I had the same reaction to learning that spiders have claws. Truly an example of ignorance is bliss.

  11. LunaChickFringe September 20, 2017 / 12:16 pm

I saw the spider “paws” in FB last week. Still a giant NOPE.

  12. Faye September 20, 2017 / 1:27 pm

I skipped to the doggie dance. Lovely. There should be as much dancing with doggies in the kitchen as possible. I sing to Millie often.

    • Ricky's Mom September 20, 2017 / 1:48 pm

I love dancing with Ricky. He’s not always in the mood for it any more, but it’s one of my favorite things when he’s up for it.

    • Kar September 20, 2017 / 2:27 pm

My mother swears that our first cat LOVED country music. would come yell at her until she scooped her up for a dance.

YOu can always do musical canine dancing. Looks a lot more fun than those agility courses personally.

  13. Kar September 20, 2017 / 2:32 pm

Is anybody else a little concerned about those giraffe’s? I don’t know if Kenya’s one of those watch countries but the African superstitions about eating human albino parts and all white creatures has me concerned.

And maybe I should stop watching Nightline

    • fkaWaldenPond September 20, 2017 / 9:48 pm

*sighhhh* Yes, very much concerned and I don’t watch Nightline.

  14. Patty September 20, 2017 / 3:54 pm

Maybe I am strange, but spiders don’t scare me. I don’t like when they sneak up on me, but other than that they are okay. The rest of the links are great too, I love the linky posts.

  15. Kar September 20, 2017 / 7:58 pm

BTW, anybody else want to attack attack that maine coon’s coat with a comb and maybe some shears?

That coat is out of control!

    • allein ? September 20, 2017 / 8:00 pm

I could never have a pet that needs that much grooming. Pablo was perfect – plunk him in the sink and trim his nails a few times a month and he was good to go.

  16. 6rabbits September 20, 2017 / 9:43 pm

The spider paws are beautiful…until you realize How Much those pics must be magnified!? Nope, nope, nopety nope-nope-nope.?
