Happy Hopping Hairless Hare

A bouncing bald bunny by the name of Mr. Bigglesworth is showing the world that bald is beautiful.

Born with a genetic disorder that leaves him furless, the hairless hare’s helpful humans dress him in knit jumpers to keep him warm.

Mr. Bigglesworth lives with rabbit pal Loafy, who hates the hairbrush…

And a whippet named Danny, who’s… different.

Spreading the message “Be your own kind of beautiful,” Bigglesworth has become a social media star, with a souvenir calendar in the works.

Awww, still a precious bun. I just want to wrap him up and snorgle with him. Guess I now know what’s under all that fur. With the little bit of hair around his nose, he has the face of an older man with a mustache.

      Yes!
Though why am I thinking he looks like a little Chinese man??

I was thinking more of William Brimley but I can see how Mr. Bigglesworth can resemble an older Chinese man sharing words of wisdom, with a few binkies added in.

I am glad Mr. Bigglesworth has such a great hoomin family! He is very cute, and though of course I am sorry he needs extra help to stay safe and warm, it certainly is fascinating to see more clearly how bunny bodies work.

I want to knit him a soft, soft, softest-ever sweater (I forget how we write our pronunciation). Maybe knit from angora-bunny yarn?

    Sweet little pink bunbun.

Thanks, Ricky’s Mom. I didn’t want to be the one correcting people *again*.

I’m not sure it counts as correcting so much as reporting – those are the two spellings I saw most often at CO, but I’ll bet there were others.

That is cute from a semi-disturbing perspective. I will up and sew him a jumpsuit from the softest fleece I can find, and then cuddle him.

I love that Mr. Bigglesworth’s people have such a great sense of humor–I’ll be laughing about the whippet picture all morning! And “Find your own kind of beautiful” is a wonderful campaign. Plus knitwear.

I wonder if this was Mr. Bigglesworth as a tot. /Users/Murray/Desktop/teddytassens_biran9_resize.jpg

He’s adorable! And he seems to have ‘privacy floof’ (I didn’t look that closely).

    • Laura October 1, 2017 / 2:58 pm

Yes, he has a fuzzy tail and patches of fuzz on his ‘tocks, as well as his front paws. It’s excellent privacy floof. ?

      Privacy floof. I’m ded now.

Mike, you know my Knitted radar just went off.

Want to put him in a light cotton jumpsuit that’s easy to wear and won’t weigh him down.

I think Danny is a David Bowie fan.
