Maybe it’s like that kind of jumping spider that looks like an ant so it can infiltrate ant colonies and roam around munching.

Are you suggesting there’s a sausage colony inside that tree?

          Sausage colony! I like it!

All dogs have wings! I also smell yellow mustard.

Ick. I’ll take the real dog and you all can have the sausages and mustard.

Many of them cleverly disguised their wings as ears.

He looks concerned. I’ll be right back with some sausages!

I used to work with a girl who frequently house-sat for her neighbors, who had two miniature Schnauzers. She was allowed to have people over, so sometimes she’d have a party. The girl dog was shy and would often stay in the bedroom, but the boy would always have to inspect guests as they arrived. To be accepted, you were advised to give him a Snausage. (Which he could have done with fewer of, but I digress.)

Oh my! that little wood sprite is the spitting image of my dearly departed Maggie the Wienie.

So I’ve been talking to a friend via text message. He found out tonight that his father has skin cancer. An hour later he found out his grandfather has…some other kind of cancer. It didn’t seem right to ask.

I’ve been chatting with him about the subjects I know we have in common: love of dogs, death metal, video games, and Scottish folk music. I hope I’ve provided comfort. But it’s made me very aware that sooner or later the emperor of diseases comes for us all.

If you’ve got someone you love, tell them. Hug them, if possible. Text them “hug” if not. Life’s too short not to bare your heart.

Here’s some Scottish folk music. https://youtu.be/LIQ8rTmfHKw

    Gods bless and good night

I am hearing you Blue. ?

Thank you for the good tune. There is a beautiful harvest moon out there right now waiting for us to talk to it, she’s good that way.

I think you’re doing the best one can – letting a person talk is all you can really do. Very thoughtful and kind – what one does for a friend.

I was just singing The Cuckoo the other day – I do an Appalachian version on banjo in a modal tuning – pretty much what one might hear from many of the old timers. Cuckoos are really awful birds! They either remove the eggs of the resident bird’s nest and put in their own, or lay their own and when the chicks hatch they starve out the resident chicks. Lazy things!
