Definitely seeing suffering and betrayal. LOL.

I read his eyes as more WHYYY?? and WHY MEEEE? In any case, someone needs to be prepared for retribution and/or a cold shoulder when they get home. Such a pretty kitty, those eyes are gorgeous, always loved house panthers.

Happy three day weekend everyone!!! Gonna to be busy one over here – going up today to visit our friend who’s been sick. Since he’s been complaining that the frozen dinners have no flavor, I’ve volunteered myself to cook some meals for him. Good news is I’m taking a lot of shortcuts (premade mashed potatoes, mac n cheese, microwave rice) so I’m not at the stove for 4 hours. And then it all goes in the freezer. Tomorrow is chore day so Monday we can go back up to our friend’s house for his brother’s birthday celebration. Whew, I’m tired just re-reading it, lol.

Poor baby. I’m sure there will be cuddle apologies and treats now the rest of the day. Just keep the pitiful eyes turned on like that.
I feel like I have reached some sort of life milestone. I work as a housekeeper in a hospital. Two surgical nurses were walking by me the other day and as one was relating a story to the other I heard her say, “…..And Nancy said – not that Nancy, the other Nancy….” I was momentarily stunned. Have I – have I reached – have I achieved status of “not that, the other”???!!!! I am overcome….

Poor Seymour, it’s for your own good, buddy! BTW, you are one handsome fella!

Nancy, are you related to Mike? You share a name! 😀

I am so ready for a long weekend. No big plans other going to see the documentary about Mr. Rogers with a friend. We are both preschool teachers and Mr. Rogers is kind of a rock star in our world!

Hi-di-ho, fellow Cutetropolitans! It’s a gloomy, rainy weekend here, a reminder that summer is over and school starts a week from Monday. Wish I had a kitty to cuddle with, but they’d have to fight their way through all the books and papers to find a comfortable spot.

Morning, everybody–and a special shoutout to NotThatNancyTheOtherNancy!

I got to clock out early yesterday, so my weekend plans got moving! Yesterday I moved all the smaller furniture out of the bedroom and patched holes in the walls. This morning, I got up early to wash said walls (and floors, which were absolutely disgusting). Now, while the walls dry, I can run over to Home Depot for pale yellow paint!!! Finally painting the bedroom that has been on my list for more than 3 years!

Hugs to you all as we enjoy the last weekend of summer. Seymour, sweetiepie, it will be all right–you can guilt your mama bigtime when you get home!

Poor Seymour! Whenever I took Daisy to the vet she buried her face in her chest and stoically put up with injections and thermometers…but ignored me for hours after we got home.

Changing the subject somewhat, regular customers may remember that I was scammed out of some money by a Chinese firm pretending to be based in the UK. Well, after ten days of exchanging emails and the involvement of PayPal I’m getting a full refund!

    • dubravkamcvmd September 1, 2018 / 3:22 pm

Happy to hear that and good to know Paypal is helpful. One of the reasons Amazon will swallow the earth is great customer service.

    • Smartypants September 2, 2018 / 10:29 am

Oh, I’m glad to hear it! That sounded really frustrating.

That was me at the dentist yesterday. During the last checkup the doctor found a tiny chip in a back tooth, that it would need to be smoothed out to prevent cavities.

I’m like okay. I went in expecting a brief 5 minute thing involving those mint-flavored buffers.

But no, as it turn out, they had to redo the filling in that tooth. So out comes bitter numbing gels, followed up by another course of anesthesia via needles, then come the high speed drills…

I was definitely like “you have betrayed my tiny trust”.

Thanks to the advancements in dental technologies, felt no pain. But my neck and jaw muscles were sore afterwards from the impact of high speed drill.

    Greetings, Cutetropolitans.
Crazy busy week last week, nother one this week. Eye healing, still waiting for rest of results. But feeling optimistic, so passing that on to you all. Have a great week.

    How could you?!

It’s 9PM here and just getting to look at the computer. I’m very out of sorts today. Dear little Clementine Bunny had to have her teeth filed – she wasn’t eating too well and they suspected that tooth problems were the issue. But she’s taking a long time to recover and I’m nervous since I’ll be away for a while and I hate to have her caretaker have any surprises with her. So I’m rather unsettled. And I’ve been sleeping so poorly – about 3 hours last night and all day today I kept falling asleep. I’m falling asleep now but I have to stay awake for a while longer to get some things done. Besides if I went to bed now I’d wake up at midnight and be awake all night.

Seems like things are going reasonably swimmingly for all Cutetropolitans – enjoy your week end!

I’m exhausted, but for a good reason – I was moving things to my NEW APARTMENT, yay!

A few months ago I posted how my current apartment situation has gone to hell – fights, police, drugs/alcohol, the heat going out again and again in January – it actually got worse after that. But I found a nifty little studio in the next town.

The building’s about 100 years old – it used to be a hotel. My place has the cutest Fisher-Price mini kitchen and a ‘Murphy table’ (folds out like a Murphy bed, but a table). The bathroom has those hexagonal white floor tiles which I really like. I think it even has that old-timey horsehair plaster.

I’ve paid thru September here at my current place, so I’m going to move in stages (necessitated by my mobility/pain issues). And yes, hiring a real mover!

I’ve been using this as an opportunity to weed out my stuff – 60+ lb. pounds of old papers to the shredder at Staples already!

Wow, this post is long – sorry. ‘There are a lot of unknowns, but I’m really encouraged at the prospect of getting away from this situation.

Congrats on your new place! Hope the neighbors are better there! Love the description of your kitchen…I hope that doesn’t really mean it’s made of pink plastic or something. 😛

Being able to move a little at a time is nice. When I bought my condo my closing got pushed back and ended up being 2 days after our apartment lease ended, which I was initially annoyed with but it ended up being a good thing. The lease ended the Sunday after Thanksgiving so that was a bad weekend for moving, so we ended up moving out the weekend before, and most of my stuff got piled in my parents’ garage. We then had a week to finish cleaning out the apartment (and move the pile of stuff I hadn’t had time to pack properly). Then after I closed on my condo, between cleaning carpets and painting and other things that were easier to do when the place was empty, and Christmas/New Years, and getting sick in early January, I ended up staying at my parents for almost two months before recruiting my friend, her husband, and his pickup truck to move my furniture (took us three trips but I wasn’t paying for movers again). Smaller stuff that could go in the car I took in bits and pieces (books came last; I had to unpack some boxes and take them back to the house, where my dad split up my very heavy boxes of books into quantities I could actually carry up the stairs). If I had closed on the original date, I would have had about 5 days to clean, etc. (and I had to work, too, of course) before I had to move my stuff in, so the fact that I was forced to stash it all at my parents’ house gave me a little more flexibility.

Im glad for you. the new place sounds really cute with a lot of character.

Congratulations Smartypants! I too moved from unpleasant to peaceful after Hurricane Sandy. You will be surprised how much tension will leave your mind and body. Enjoy!

Thank you all so much! I’ve been at this location for 25 years, so it’s quite a change.

I worried that the first time I saw the studio on my own (without the property management company) that I’d find a lot of flaws, but it’s the opposite – I’m finding more features like extra-deep cabinets.

The kitchenette is a perfect miniature – a two-burner range top, mini sink and dorm fridge. Everything is either new or well-cleaned. Next week I’m getting with the maintenance guy to have a mini freezer delivered and set up – he already did a good job installing the A/C.

      Happy weekend all!

Yay, Iam so happy for you, Smartypants! Congratulations on the new home!

This is Gracie, my cousin’s dog who my parents’ are babysitting until Tuesday.
She has a perfect little chocolate-kiss nose.
(She’s less blurry – but not less furry – in real life.)

    • Smartypants September 3, 2018 / 7:32 am

      Adorable!
