Ding-Dong Doggie

Locked-out puppy rings the doorbell!

Knock, knock! (who’s there?) Theodore! (Theodore who?) The, uh, door shut and left this golden retriever puppy locked outside. But the clever dog knew what to do: ring the doorbell/camera, which happens to have a knock-knock tone. (via Andrew Y.)

It took me *decades* to get that Land Shark joke–seriously, I just figured it out maybe a few years ago.

      What a smart pupster!

If that puppy knocked on my door I wouldn’t make him wait outside for a second!

Is this looped several times in the video? Is that why we never see adorable puppers let in?

I think that’s the case. In the original version of this on Facebook, the action just happens once.

Thanks, Mike, that’s a relief. That means puppeh was let in pretty quickly. Clever little boo.

I can actually hear the door being opened after the first knocking, now that you explained.

Yes, that’s what I thought, too!

Clever pup! We leave the back door slightly ajar when our kitteh goes outside (we live in the woods- lots of predators) but lately she’s taken to going around the house and coming back in the front door. We don’t want to leave both doors open, so we went to Harbor Freight and bought a wireless driveway alarm. We mounted the sensor at cat height on the front porch and keep the receiver inside, so when she walks past the sensor she “rings” the doorbell and we can go open the door to let her in.

Puppers looks genuinely distressed that he might miss his favorite show starting on tv right now.
