Today is National Cookie Day! How to observe? What better way
Than to treat yourself to something sweet, a cookie’s just the thing to eat
Chocolate chip or macaroon, lemon drop or Lorna Doone
Munch whatever suits your mood, but remember: Cookies are people food!

I have Peppermint Bark Oreos at home…and strawberry Milanos.
Peppermint Bark Oreos? I had o idea such wonders existed. I bought a bunch of cookies today at Trader Joe’s – some their cookies have no palm oil in them and I tend to get those. I did buy a box of their chocolate stars which do have palm oil – they’re only here at Christmas.
I saw them at Target! They’re in a smaller package than the usual flavors. They have mint cream with red sugar crystals in it. (Not actual peppermint bark like you probably picture, and unlike regular Oreos, they’re actually better on their own, not dipped into milk.)
I don’t have a TJ’s nearby…I was just listening to a Freakonomics podcast episode about them yesterday.

For me, everyday is Natโl Cookie Day. I must have missed seeing this on my Cutetropolis calendar. So hoomins are not the only ones who like cookies.
It wasn’t on the calendar! I looked when I saw this post. ?
Sorry! I will remember it in future calendars.
That’s okay, it was a nice surprise. ๐
Upon second look, that hammie is striking quite a distinguished pose. Hammie should have a portrait painted of this image.
I figured he was stealing the cookie until I read the hovertext – perfect!
‘All– For you; me lady.
Please remember that chocolate is not good for dogs or most other species, probably including squirrels. We put stale stuff out the window for the critters, but anything with chocolate (if it lasted long enough to go stale) goes in the trash so it can’t poison anybody out there.
