All Kevin ever wanted was to be the fastest. Every year, he would put on his track suit and join the tryouts at Tri-County Junior College, and every year he watched, huffing and wheezing, the other aspirants cross the finish line before him. So when he spotted the wishing star from his window one night, he gazed at it and wished his heart’s desire: Please, make me run faster than all the others. But, as so often happens in these sorts of stories, he should have been more specific.

I think the best part of this is the tail.
Also, I really hope this pup’s name is actually Kevin.
Bravo Mike!!! Another masterpiece. The scrolldown was good and the picture – priceless!! And yes, it would be great if the dog’s name is Kevin. Also, want to know where the h they got this suit for the dog, it looks so comfy I wouldn’t mind one for me.
Sign me up for one too – looks so cozy!
Thirty seven minutes! It took me thirty seven minutes to comprehend what happened in the scroll down to this picture. I claim the “D’UH” prize for today.
And, yes, AJ, that track suit does look comfy.
Don’t be so quick to claim that prize, Duckie! I’m STILL working on it.
Is it that we’re supposed to assume Kevin was a human, then when he gets his wish he finds he’s been turned into a dog? Or was Kevin a dog all along, and the problem is the humiliation of the track suit? Or is this one of those cultural references I’m too out of touch to get? Or . . . I just don’t know.
It took me some time also, so Iām going to presume Kevin was a hoomin, who got turned into a greyhound.
That’s what I get too – he wanted to be faster than the other athletes, and he didn’t think to specify that he should remain human. So now he’s faster than all the other dogs, but he has to wear the tracksuit.
Tom Hanks would so understand his situation.
This is how you dress for the races:
