Happy Cereal Day

This squirrel is nuts for Daddy’s cereal!

Today is National Cereal Day, so if you like to walk around the house scarfing down handfuls of Cap’n Crunch straight from the box, today is all about you. Well, about you and this rescued squirrel, who isn’t shy about diving into his friend’s breakfast bowl.

That must be the toy surprise, Murray C.

I call matchings! They are wearing the same color bathrobes!

I would love to have a squirreleo share my breakfast! Actually Millie shares all my meals and snacks. ?

After the squirrel sort of dives into the guy’s bowl (at about 48 seconds), he says “You’re a monster!” 🙂

Also, Mike, I have to keep entering my name and email every time I comment. I even remembered to click the “Save my name etc.” box. 🙂

Oh I see!! Tx for clarifying!! ? I guess I should watch with sound more often. Sometimes I can’t because I am in a public place and don’t like to disturb other people…see… I am not a monster!

I have the same issue with having to re-insert info.

Cute as these cereal fans are, I always feel slightly guilty about clicking on a link to the loathesome Sun.

Had the opportunity to take care of a black rescue squirrel once.

He didn’t pull stunts like this, but he did have a habit of burying peanuts all over the sofa, my mom’s planters and anywhere else he deemed a good hiding place.

He was the best alarm clock you could ask for, sproing-ing out of the laundry basket and onto my bed at the crack of dawn.

Sadly, we later found out why his mom had kicked him out of the nest and wouldn’t take him back no matter how many times we would take him back to his tree. He had the apparently very common affliction of squirrel epilepsy-type disease. For some reason their body stops processing vitamin D and that leads to muscle spasms, cramps and eventually full paralysis.

Awww, that’s so sad! I guess it’s a bit like ALS for squirrels?

Poor little thing. At least he was cared for with your family for awhile.

He still got a better life than he would have had. And you got the gift of emergency peanut stockpiles!

Not-shy enough to even perch on the edge of the bowl! What is the world coming to?

So sweet! That is one pampered squirrel.

Totally adorable. I love the squirrel’s complete comfort and confidence with its human.

Is his name really “Tip”? That is just adorable.
