I had a deer photobomb at my birthday party Saturday when she decided to check out the band’s equipment while they were on a break. 🙂 I’ll have to send the photo to Mike to post since I still haven’t figured out how to do it in a comment

It was for my 50th b-day (which was actually in May, but less chance of rain in August and it was outside so I definitely didn’t want rain). Band is LeRoy Bell and His Only Friends, whom I’ve been photographing for years and years (if you go to leroybell.com, about half the photos on his website are mine). So I thought it’d be fun to have them play my party, and I got a bit of a discount as their unofficial photographer! They had heard about our deer, so they were really excited to see one actually show up. 😀
Thanks, Mike! Apparently the drummer is a big Bruce Lee fan; he said all his bass drums have a photo of him. He was actually just filling in for this band (LeRoy Bell and His Only Friends)- his name is Burke Thomas, and he’s currently the drummer for Duff McKagen from Guns N Roses. LeRoy’s regular drummer is Ben Smith, who used to play with Heart.
Oh, and fun fact- the deer is Maple’s mama (Maple is the deer that was born in our landscaping last year; she and her mama were featured on the Tongue-Out Tuesday post last week! So this is the second time she’s been on Cutetropolis in a week- maybe you need to get HER autograph! 😀

One of my coworkers adopted a Labrador/Rhodesian Ridgeback over the weekend and brought him to work today. Chase was very enthusiastic about helping me empty all the trash and recycling. Total sweetie. I’m imagining him giving my friend that look and receiving same. They are very happy together.
