The happiness of Brindle the doggy when he smelled the shirt of his beloved soldier dad brought tears to my eyes. It’s sobering to realize that a dog is capable of such unconditional, deep and unselfish love so rare in humans, at least in my experience.
That one really got to me too. Dogs are so honest in expressing their emotions and man, those emotions run deep! I also love the cat who’s unwilling to share his shiba friend and shiba is all, “Don’t fight over me, please. There’s plenty of me to go around.” 😁
I’ve never seen a fat squirrel. Ever. Where are these chunksters hanging out? I’m guessing big cities. 😋
I was wondering the same thing. Not in big cities, if my long experience of NYC squirrels is anything to go by.
Well two or three of them had special chairs made for them by humans who I’m guessing are responsible for the chunkiness.
Zion! On the bus in Zion, there was a poster with a fat squirrel and a message about not feeding them. I thought it was photoshopped, because the creature was cartoonishly obese! Then I saw several real live squirrels just like the one on the poster. I’m not sure people are trying to feed them… Those little guys will chew right through a backpack to get at your food!
Obviously someplace with no hawks. Or maybe they’re too heavy to be lifted off the ground, interesting tactic
Candy is one smart cat—New York is great! The chonky squirrels had me howling. Some were perfectly spherical.
I’m more impressed that someone got that cat to wear a shirt, willingly.

Morning Dulcie, Yes, I see how different the west and east voted– I can understand and appreciate your frustration. Personally, I dislike both the leaders (the arrogance is cringe-worthy) (I don’t mind Singh –so far). I was strategic voting to avoid divisive populism on the rise. I would be heart broken if the west or Quebec separated. At least we voted, it is discouraging to see such apathy around the vote.
