Maru looks forward to Halloween with anticipation, for it is the one time of year he can greet little vampires and mummies and other creatures who share his unusual fondness for confinement. First, he must put on his costume, witch is a which. Or which is a witch, I forget which is witch.
Properly costumed, it’s time to pass out candy, but wait! Mischievous spirits have cut a hole in his candy dish! However shall he distribute the Halloween candy?
Then an idea: If he can’t use the dish, he can use his treat bag instead, but egad! The cruel poltergeists have sabotaged it as well! His Halloween ruined, Maru returns the treat bag to its ghost-proof container and sulks.

Despite the otherworldly interference, Maru and Hana are having a fun Halloween party, which involves trying on costumes, a spooky summoning, a game of fit-the-cat-into-the-pumpkin, and a treat of BOOna, which is tuna in the shape of a ghost.
Great music – including the sound of happy eating at the end.
Those are the cutest tuna ghosts I’ve ever seen! Okay, well, they’re the only tuna ghosts I’ve ever seen, but still.

It was imaginative of her to arrange for him to put on his own costume (the hat and wig). He’s stuck his head through plenty of holes in large boxes that had things painted or mounted on them, but a tiny wearable box? Have we seen that before? It’s not easy coming up with something new after all this time, but she may have done it.
The edge of the box under his chin kinda makes it look like he has an evil grin.
