If you need a cuteness boost this morning, let’s visit with Boo-Boo, the sproingiest bear cub you’ve ever seen, as he romps with two equally bouncy lion cubs. (via Andrew Y.)

Lions and – uh, lions and bears, oh my!
I hate to be a Negative Nelly, but captive animals at a roadside zoo that are taken from their mothers and forced to interact with humans is neither cute, nor funny.
I’m with you, ScaryButtercup. I hate to nuff also, but Dade City’s Wild Things has a bad reputation on several counts (including fraud). The cubs shown are cute without question, but the organization keeping them captive is very, very far from being a reputable zoo.
I’m not completely anti-zoo. There are some zoos that are actively involved in species and habitat preservation. (I’m both proud and relieved that Wildlife Conservation Society, which runs all the NYC zoos, is one such). But DCWT doesn’t even remotely pass that smell test.
Thank you both for pointing this out. I’ll avoid this source from now on.
The Wild Animal Sanctuary near me rescues many critters from these roadside zoos. Baby animals like lions and bears can’t be safely handled after the age of about 3 months, so they’re often neglected or abused. I hate to think of these adorable sproingers living such sad lives.
