Wooden Waves

And now for something a bit different: Woodworker and musician Ross McSweeney designs and builds kinetic sculptures that are glorious in both their complexity and their beauty. Perhaps his best work is this serene scene of a boat bobbing endlessly on the waves as playful fish leap around it. Makes you want to grab your fishing pole and just drift away… (via fkaWaldenPond)

I LOVE automata! This is wonderful though I do worry about the fisherman. Perhaps he should be surfacing once in a while.😜

Beautiful! The way he made the ocean waves is so elegant.

This is so cool! Anyone else have the urge to spin the wheel reallly reallly fast so as to make it seem that the boat is in a storm?? I think the boat should have a fisherman and maybe a few mermaids/merman to go along with the fish but that’s just me.

It’s a marvelous achievement, and very beautiful. Unfortunately, it’s also so true to life that I had to stop watching half-way through. 🙁 I was getting motion sickness!

Me, too! Me and boats are not a good mix.
