(Why… why is she licking the sofa? I don’t get it. You lick yourself, you lick your best friends, and of course you lick the Food Guy, gotta stay in tight with him… but a sofa? Am I missing something here?)

I agree, awww, cute Ani. Bunnehs do randomly lick things. I have a small statue type bunny that all of my bunnehs have kissed. Mike, I know you miss Ani, and I wonder if Teddy misses her?
I don’t think Teddy misses Ani. I haven’t noticed any change in his mood or behavior.
After Wacket died I didn’t notice changes in Minkette. Then I played a little video clip of Wacket I had on my computer in which he meows. She came over and sat in front of the computer and opened her mouth and panted. I never played it again while she was alive.
So sweet. And yes, of course you gotta lick the Food Guy.
Two cuties, thanks for sharing. And I know exactly why Ani licked the sofa – leftovers. She was finding all the teeny tiny crumbs of food that might have been dropped any time in the past. I had a dog that did the same thing, to the sofa, the floor, little kids. I agree that Teddy looks a little puzzled by Ani’s antics. Hope you and him are doing well.
A friend suggested that she may have tasted salt from my skin on the arm of the chair.
That too. All our 4 legged ones loved licking my husband because, especially in the summer, sweats a lot. We used to joke he was their personal salt lick.
Ha! Glad someone else’s bunny licks the furniture! Theo is always licking the arm of the chair I sit in. He won’t lick me, but the chair?? Ani and Theo obviously have some inside dope!😆 And Teddy does look so confused, poor baby.😘
Ani’s coloring seems so unique… kind of an intense salt and pepper. Or is that just a trick of the light? Beautiful bunny soul…
She always had that pattern, although a bit more gray crept in as time passed. She also had a random pattern that would travel across her body over time, like a squiggly line.
I wasn’t aware that Ani had passed, I am so sorry.
Thank you for posting the video. It’s good to have a moment dedicated to our patron pets, Ani and Teddy, so we can learn to love them too. I’d love for it to be a recurring segment, since without your deep love for furry companions, there would be no Cutetropolis.

I didn’t comment yesterday, as I was feeling particularly transparent and ineffective. I’m feeling slammed by life from all sides, including from above. And then, this morning, Duckie chuckled my chuckle and used her heated perch for rubbing her head. Funny, how the smallest cute animal things can raise the spirits.

Oh Duckie you just put into words what I have been feeling the last few months!! There ARE words to describe it – I just didn’t have them. I didn’t miss a day of Cute, and sometimes a comment actually formulated in my head, but I somehow didn’t post anything until recently.

And Mike… beautiful clip of Ani and Teddy. Bittersweet, but mostly sweet. And sometimes they don’t show it – cats are especially stoic, but YES they will definitely miss a close pal. I don’t know about Ani and Teddy’s case but like DUBRA explained – they CAN feel it and sometimes show it.

Bertie is MUCH better. He is entirely off medication and had his sutures removed yesterday. Now all he needs is for his beautiful fur to grow back. He’ll probably need the cone of shame for a couple more weeks, but otherwise has no restrictions.
He continues to be the cutest and lovingest ball of fur.
