Cross-species friendships are always a pleasure to see.

Meerkat makes ugly xmas sweater look adorable. I’d like a carpool friend like this to keep an eye on traffic for me.

Did his sweater say Maker’s Mark?

        Yes. Yes it did.

Hey, DUCKIE!! (Caps and exclamation marks to get her attention)

Can you please let us know if you’re o.k.? Hearing about the floods and evacuations up there and I know you’re *near* the area that’s flooding but not sure if you’re *in* the area.

    • Duckie 🐥 November 16, 2021 / 12:42 pm

      Hey, Sue.
Yes, I’m right in the middle of the flooding (Abbotsford), although it hasn’t directly affected me.
I have NEVER seen that much rain in my life! It was terrifying. So many roads closed because of sudden lakes or washouts. Freeway backed up because sections are closed. We’re all phoning/emailing family and friends to make sure everyone is ok.
Hubby and I are safe in our building, although everyone is keeping an eye on the ground floor units and our garage. Parents’ garage flooded, but only the cars are complaining.
It sounded like several of those yellow rescue copters flew over around four this morning (Duckie was NOT impressed), and we’re praying everyone is safe.
I hope you are all ok.

Oh, thank goodness, I’m so glad you’re safe! Just looking at Abbotsford on Google Maps is terrifying- so many roads closed!

I have two friends who live in the Abbotsford area with their families, and so far both are OK.

We didn’t get nearly as much rain down here (about an hr south of Seattle) but we did lose power for 11 hours yesterday. In my town, specifically, they’ve done a really good job of improving and maintaining the levees, so we haven’t had a major flood in years (there’s a river on either side of town and they converge just north of town).

Happy to hear you’re both okay for now. Fingers crossed the rain lets up. Maybe send some down to SoCal, we’re in the midst of a major drought and it looks like our winter rains are going to be sparse.

The Cross-species friendships photo of the snail on the back of the hairless cat made me shiver imagining how it felt on the cat’s skin ewwww!
I love hairless cats but snails give me the creeps.

Oh yes Duckie!! I’d forgotten that you were in BC. Hopefully nowhere near Merritt?? 🙏🤞

Looks like Meerkat Manor has moved to the suburbs.
