“Do I chase the tail, or does the tail chase me?” So mused French existentialist Jean-Marie Phlegmulard (1893-1947) in his collected essays “I Pounce, Therefore I Am.” A key thinker in feline philosophy in the early 20’s, his later years saw a decline into self-doubt and catnip addiction.

Such heavy thoughts and all before coffee! Me thinks heβs a little young to be having an existential crisis already. Come here young one and Iβll explain all about things. Plus I have tuna!
Poor baby having an existential crisis at such a young age…
It would mean so much to his thoughts on the meaning of his last name, Phlegmulard, or perhaps, hairballs.
Shall we disturb him on his holiday or not?
Anyway, Happy Birthday, Mike!

I hope you have a very happy birthday Mike π
Ems always knows the birthdays! Have a fantastic one, Mike!
Also, since this little one has such a long tail on such a small body, I think the tail wags him/her.
Speaking of existential crises….don’t forget to vote!

I’m working from home today so I just ran out at lunchtime. No line!
The ballot for my part of Virginia was seriously almost two feet long, with half a dozen “non partisan” races (they were all partisan, just not labeled with R or D). I had to pull out my phone and google a couple of the races that weren’t even on the sample ballots I’d looked up ahead of time.
Mine wasn’t that big. Just state senate/assembly and local school board stuff, I think (I left my sample ballot in the car). No ballot initiatives or anything like that.
Happy Birthday Mike – I hope you hare having a wonderful day wherever you are! π
Happy Birthday Mike!
