There was some epic disapproval before the name Pigpoke came up. He was not liking any of those previous names.
Wow. I thought he was just chewing the end like someone chewing gum. Didn’t think he’d ever get to the end. Wonder if bun bun’s jaw got tired from all that, my jaw is sore from just watching.
Nope.👍🏼 Jaw is meant to work that way, and they don’t have to do much grinding cos stomach breaks it down. That’s why 2 kind of poops, one—dry balls and 2–shinny, sorta squishy ones they re-eat to get all the nutrients.
Poor bun bun looked worried, was he concerned that hoomin wouldn’t let him finish?
Buns are always concerned about food being snatched from them, by other buns or humans.☺️ Have you ever seen one of two house buns take off with a piece they’ve nabbed from the other? Very common. My last bun would snatch the first green from my hand and run, then come back to finish the rest of the pile. I’d never taken food from him, just instinct I guess🤷🏼♀️
Plus, he’s outdoors, in which he will always be more alert/aware.
I don’t understand, that was a very long blade of grass, where does it go?
Does he swallows as he chews?
Does it go into some kind of pouch like when hamsters put a ton of stuff in their cheeks.

No pouch, straight to stomach.😊 He does swallow as he chews. No cheek pouches. Think about you inhaling a long piece of spaghetti, just his food goes down automatically. Look up some bun vids on YouTube, there are tons! Cinnamon Bun and Morty have some vids of this behavior.
It always seemed like my rabbits were inhaling their greens or hay. Cutie, Pigpoke just hung in there chewing that long blade of grass. One would think their jaws would get tired. That kind of chewing is important because it helps wear down their constantly growing teeth.
I thought at first Pigpoke was eating a cord!
