Poor, scared pup☹️ This is why owners should start desensitizing their pups when young.
He did do fairly well, tho. Kudos!
I love that Vanessa takes the time to explain her decisions and her recommendations. And I have to agree about that side eye; the ultimate in expressing skepticism!
You’re right about early desensitization. I don’t know what the issue was with this dog, but I do want to point out that when you adopt a rescue, shelter pet, or stray, that ship may have sailed. Sometimes you just have to play the hand you’re dealt.
Yeah. It may be he got hurt by a groomer in the past. It could even be that the water was too cold and now the whole process is scary.
Growing up, my mom was careful to play with the dog, have him do tricks for treats, that kind of thing whenever she was consulting the chthonic god Va’coom. But the rescue we adopted later was scared of it…until he went deaf, at which point he’d roll on his back so you could vacuum his tummy.
Poor baby!
Yeah, this was tough to watch and I couldn’t make it all the way through. Though I did want to see the side-eye, and Teddy did not disappoint.
