According to Mashed, a black and tan is a cocktail made by carefully layering a dark beer on top of a light one. It should always have a head, but this one seems to have two.

The Black and Tan was a pub near my house in the 60s. My first dog Flossie’s previous owner may have been a regular patron because whenever we walked her past the door she tried to drag us inside.
