Happy Saturday and welcome to the open thread. Today reader Georgiana Y. shares her two cats Storm and Skye being, well, unique:
I’m not sure why but Storm was feeling particularly affectionate toward my foot this evening.
Skye’s little sad face watching us leave the house this morning.
I will give all the belly rubs and keep Skye company, too.
I have to work this weekend. Keep your fingers crossed for me that things go smoothly, because the rest of this week did not. ๐
But I went for a walk last night and got to pet a puppy. Looked like a Jack Russell or maybe a mix. Was very soft. It was only a few seconds but I told the owner, “thanks, I needed that” and she said she was glad.
I have so much stuff collected; might have to save some for next week. But you must know, the dogs were good again this week. Including the bacon-TV-licking pup from yesterday.
The bulldog with the back foot๐๐๐๐๐๐
I saw a compilation of those and a few of the people did it with their palms up and the dogs put their faces in the hands instead of a paw. ๐
Yeah, that’s pretty special.
I’m still howling over the inflatable dog. I get the newsletter every week and saw this one in the email. (I always wait for Caturday and Allein’s post to watch the video.)
This one wasn’t even in my notes; I saw it this morning.
WeRateDogs tribute to Kabosu the Doge dog, who gets the very rare 15/10.
I love the acronyn of Do Only Good Everyday. What a lovely relationship between this pup and her mom and her feline sibs.
Last week we were assured that Britain would be basking in temperatures exceeding those in Greece. What we got were days of torrential rain and high winds, although today it was reasonably warm and sunny. I just hope things improve before my seaside holiday next month.
Yesterday a builder came to measure up my loft for the proposed conversion. Unfortunately the combination window/mini-balcony I wanted, although technically possible, would greatly increase the construction costs and also require planning permission, both of which I would rather avoid. However, it isn’t essential and the money I’ve saved will enable me to replace the front door, thereby completing the home improvements. Finally!
Yay!
We’ve been getting mid-80s temps this week. I had to turn on the A/C the other night because it was 85 degrees inside. Had a storm Thursday morning. Heard thunder while I was getting ready to leave for work, but thankfully didn’t end up driving directly toward it. I got some rain on the way but the worst of it got to my office a little later, after I was already safely inside.
Same with temps here, and I too had to turn on the air to 79 at night cos I couldnโt sleep at 83 degrees!
I was working from home that day and hadn’t been outside. I didn’t realize until later in the afternoon that it got up to 86 degrees. I had a fan running in my ‘office’ and at some point I had to turn the blinds a bit because the sun was reflecting off my car into my window, but I didn’t realize how warm the rest of the house was until after work.
The second cat thought got me, Mike.๐ Good chuckle ๐๐ผ
Continuing my Caturday dog theme… (I do have something actually about cats but now I feel like I should save it for next week).
New Olive & Mabel! Mr. Andrew Cotter and the girls take us on a lovely garden tour.
Again I wonder about posting a video where not a huge amount actually happens.
But I suppose that in this noisy world there are worse things than a few minutes of flowers and birdsong in a garden and – above all – a couple of dogs wandering through it.
(I think the ones where “not a huge amount actually happens” are my favorites.)
Itโs a cold, rainy Saturday here in Duckieville, after a cold, rainy week.
Iโve had the fleece blankets back on the bed, and Little Duckie has been having an affair with her microwave bag. Storm and Skye would be welcome additions to the warmth.
Not a lot of big things going on, but plenty of little. Finishing my sewing list this weekend, looking into paper quilling, adding to my Doctor Who dvd collection through Amazon, questioning survival of the fittest as a BIL on my side deals with a torn butt muscle from standing up too fast, starting a new quilting project, starting a new exercise routine. Next week I will be getting my meds assessed and adjusted if needed.
Have a wonderful weekend, everyone, and stay warm/cool/dry/safe.
I’m so glad it’s Caturday (in a holiday weekend, no less!) and that we get a visit from the beautiful Skye and Storm. Georgiana, how could you ever leave those sweet girls, even for a minute?! Sky’s face about broke my heart.
Our warm days to frost warning nights seem to have ended in Colorado, and our weather has been pretty normal for now. It will get warmer next week but nothing outrageous, and the nights are still cool to cold.
I’ve been busy finalizing my trip to Niagara Falls in a month. Things almost fell through when the reunion planner wanted to move everything to August, when my brothers’ kids will be in school. Instead, the June trip will be just my brothers’ families, me, and their cousin who’s planning everything. Everybody else will go in August. I actually prefer this setup, as I won’t be meeting a bunch of strangers and will get more quality time with the family. It’s much easier to make plans with 9 people than with 19!
Once I finish chores today, I can focus on making stuff! I’ve got a bunch of projects to finish, continue, or start. The extra day should allow time for some ice dyeing experiments.
Hugs to you all. Stay warm/cool/dry/safe, as Duckie said.
Its summer here in Georgia.
spent the afternoon in the Museum. enjoying Dutch masters, my favorite
I am ready for cooler weather. know that’s not going to happen.
I’ve been at the hospital all day with my husband, it’s nothing too serious but it took a while to be seen and treated by a nurse, they are keeping him until he sees a doctor and I was sent home. I’m now being attacked by 3 cats asking for pets and food!
I hope your husband is okay!
Yes indeed. We’re sending good thoughts his way.
Oh so late to the party today. Good to see the gorgeous babies Skye and Storm. If I saw Skye’s lil face, I think I’d be turning around just to keep her company. I know such a hardship, lol. Love reading everyone’s news. If anyone’s too warm, come to my place. We’re barely at 70 degrees, cloudy and drizzly. Guess I’ll enjoy it before the SoCal summer heat starts blasting us.
Had a busy morning taking doggos to the park for a walk, then they got some chicken and egg for 2nd breakfast after we got back, Then had lunch with my Facebook women’s group. It was good to see everyone. Hadn’t gone in a while but I’m trying to make time so I can get out of my home and work bubble plus meet new people. Afterwards ran some errands, now relaxing before starting my new Lego project – an Asian style perpetual calendar.

Happy weekend everyone.
Awesome๐๐ผ Good luck! I canโt believe what you can make with LEGOs these days๐
That calendar is amazing!
